How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE is a classic standalone add-on with some new features. The developers did not call it a sequel, but they tried to expand on the unique idea of the original.”

“The game feels like the brainchild of students who were into debate club as much as programming.”

“SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE is one of a select few games that forces you to earn the right to feel like a demi-god and one that offers the best gameplay this side of its predecessor.”

“SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE is a fun action-FPS that feels limited in its execution; it makes some fantastic additions to the core SUPERHOT experience, but a poorly-executed step away from the original’s intentionally, meticulously crafted level design ultimately hurts the game’s replayability.”

“The game is like a powerful and elaborate version of its predecessor. The team worked well, adding a lot of ways to play Superhot that makes the game more enjoyable. They also added a roguelike formula which fits with the iconic slow-motion gameplay.”

“The SUPERHOT team delivers on what the original SUPERHOT should have been and it's even better than imagined. A rogue-lite take on the franchise, that feels both familiar and new at the same time. This is the new starting place for the franchise.”

“Superhot: Mind Control Delete somehow manages to give a lot more of the same slow-mo action without becoming tiresome or boring. However, things do get bogged down towards the end when the game has a little too much fun at the player's expense.”

“if after finishing Superhot you're yearning for more of the same, Superhot: Mind Control Delete is the best available option. rogue-like features have added more depth to this game. even tough it also makes the game a bit way more different from the Superhot.”

“Gameplay might be much the same, but the Cores and Hacks make the action far more varied. The random nature of the level order and the Hacks offered to you mean there's almost a rogue-like flavour to it, though this is still very much a linear game. It's just a little wider, and that meta-storyline and clinical creepiness is absolutely still part of the experience. Endless and Infinite modes mean you'll never run short of baddies to break, a task that's just as satisfying here -- if not more so with the added power-ups.”

“Superhot: Mind Control Delete's focus on improvisation and rogue-lite elements excellently complement its "time moves only when you move" core gameplay loop and distinctive aesthetic, making it a first-person shooter that fans of the genre shouldn't miss.”

“As a freebie for owners of the original, you’re not going to upset with “more” even if it’s repetitive. Otherwise, stick to the original”

“SUPERHOT: Mind Control Delete is an exquisite game that ticks all the boxes of what a sequel should be. I loved my time with this game with some playthrough's taking me into the wee small hours of the morning. (If you know me and how much I need sleep, this is quite the accomplishment) What this game does beautifully is condense all the flare and pageantry of a full-on FPS into a few minutes of intense bullet-time action which will leave you smiling from ear to ear.”
