How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Ibb and Obb is a satisfying cooperative puzzler whose inventive situations are occasionally overshadowed by design misstep.

Ibb & Obb is an excellent 2D puzzle-platformer with a unique gravitational mechanic and well-crafted co-op play.

The many challenges ibb & obb offer make for many hours of co-op fun and give puzzle aficionados are real challenge. The game turns the player upside down and the beautiful visuals and music make ibb & obb a blast to play. It could’ve been even better with a good hint system and an alternative for voice chat. It might not be the new Braid or Journey, but with ingenious puzzles and a great visual style Dutch indie studio Sparpweed puts itself on the map.

ibb and obb is the rare game that puts all its focus on co-op. If you have a friend to sit down with you'll find a beautiful and challenging game that tests your wits, reflexes and your ability to work as a team. Casual gamers stay away!

Oh, and if you're intent on trying ibb & obb as a single-player game, you can do so…but be forewarned that it ups the difficulty from "slightly difficult, and occasionally very challenging" to "insanely, brutally hard".

Ibb and Obb is not the most creative or visually striking platformer, but it’s one of the more satisfying and challenging cooperative experiences you’ll find.

Despite flaws in the difficulty curve, I would still highly recommend ibb and obb if you’re looking for an awesome online or couch co-op experience.

ibb & obb brings a fresh idea to platforming and is filled with challenging puzzles. Its art style and gameplay are exceptional, but its lack of narrative and rewards, and a heavy two-player focus, leave little to compel solo players.

It’s not perfect, and it’s certainly not meant to be played alone, but Ibb & Obb is still worth checking out for those that enjoy solving puzzles with a friend.

A cute-looking minimal platformer whose simple looks belie its fiendishly complex puzzles and highly demanding action. Two players are pretty much mandatory, so bear that in mind before buying.

Ibb & Obb is an excellent puzzle platformer best enjoyed with a good friend and an open mind. Lightbulb moments where you finally devise an ingenious solution or conquer a frustrating segment are what make the game truly great, coupled with soothing visuals and a welcoming atmosphere. Grab a buddy, hop online, and pick it up. You don’t see games like this often enough anymore.
