“The game's linear missions keep the game moving at a solid pace, though the open hub Kyoto area feels out of place and a bit too repetitive. What isn't repetitive, however, is the gameplay, which truly embodies the way of the sword, challenging players to master the katana through an exhilarating combat system built from attacking, parrying, dodging, and breaking enemies. It's all wrapped together in a breathtaking presentation built on the always impressive RE Engine. Capcom walked the way of the sword, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword successfully balances the discipline, strategy, and self-improvement the saying embodies.”

“There was a time when one would cringe at the thought of EA releasing a new Star Wars game. Today, after Battlefront II’s redemption and three high-quality releases, that’s no longer the case. Star Wars Zero Company proudly launches EA’s fourth high-quality Star Wars release, thanks to it’s excellent storytelling, meaningful design, thrilling and strategic combat, and ability to capture the magic of Star Wars. Despite landing in a time period with a definitive ending, Bit Reactor has managed to craft a story filled with stakes, heart, and well-crafted characters. Whether in combat or in the Den, Zero Company ensures that every action made is meaningful and purposeful. Meanwhile, the presentation captures the look, sound, and feel of Star Wars. The game does trip over itself a few times. The bait-and-switch of the enemy faction is annoying, as is the lack of any meaningful additional mode. Melee characters never felt as useful as ranged ones, nor is the game’s technical state flawless. All annoyances, but nothing that can take away the excellent game Bit Reactor has created. The Force is strong with Star Wars Zero Company.”

“The problem with Chop Chop Inc. is that it starts off strong then runs out of things to do, long before it runs out of goals. When everything works together at the beginning it's a lot of fun. Finding new areas and new resources, crafting new items, unlocking upgrades and learning how best to use them, etc. And then in the back half it forgets all that and turns to all automated crafting all the time. Take a small pile of missions, tally up the needed resources, automate production for what you can and go out to harvest to create the bits you don't, repeat through several gameplay sessions fueled primarily by the fond memories of when the game was enjoyable rather than a list of tasks. Chop Chop Inc. is half of an incredibly entertaining crafting game with a sharp sense of humor and lots of fun secrets to chase after, and it would have been a fantastic experience if hadn't forgotten all that and wound down to tedium.”

“What could have been the best Madden of this generation, and possibly in twenty years, is held back by a ton of bugs and logic issues. Franchise Mode is finally something everyone wanted years ago. The gameplay updates are meaningful and provide a new feeling for playing all three facets of the game. Superstar Mode is hiding its microtransaction desires, but its fun mode with the new positions. The visuals look great, and the soundtrack is GOAT status. The issues with gameplay bugs and mode-specific bugs not only hold the game back, but literally send it back years. When comparing just how good College Football 27 played, there are so many issues in a game that is supposed to share the same core elements. Madden NFL 27 can be extremely fun, but it's on a moment by moment basis.”

“Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a different animal. The fighting design allows for spamming in battle, but there is room for mastery and cohesion. While not complicated, the flow of the matches will take some time to learn and establish a direction of attack on how to play the game. The variety of game modes provides the opportunity for different exposure to different characters while eliminating the idea of anything stagnant. The art design of the characters is beautiful, and the soundtrack is fantastic for battle. At first, it was difficult to determine what Marvel Tokon was trying to be. However, spending more time in the Episodes allowed Marvel Tokon to grab some traction and provide an idea of how the game needs to be played.”
