How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 58 | 26 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 92% | 86 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 76 | 34 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 92% | 86 | 61 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“For unsightly graphics Terminator: Resistance hides a great project that offers nonlinearity, well-prescribed plot, interesting characters and a really great atmosphere of the gloomy future. Of course, the lack of budget is very noticeable in the animation and physics, but you really feel that the game is made with love.”

“This average shooter still managed to become the best Terminator game out there. All thanks to Teyon love and respect to the original films.”

“The score, composed by Chris Detyna, Jakub Gawlina and Leszek Górniak, impresses with fresh instrumentation and variations on Brad Fiedel’s powerful theme. Of particular note is a gorgeous acoustic rendition scoring the credits and one of multiple sex scenes, calling back to the original film. But Resistance is more than just hollow fan service or wish-fulfilment for a worn-down fanbase, as it stands out as an engaging first-person action-adventure. And, with this remaster, it gets a second wind as a truly “complete” experience.”

“Terminator Resistance is without a doubt the best game the developers at Teyon have released to date, and it’s what has earned them a place among the industry’s most respected studios. It’s a fantastic old-school shooter that’s fully licensed and set in the Terminator universe. If you can overlook a few flaws, you’ll still have a blast playing it even today.”

“After the abberration that Rambo: The Video Game was, Teyon delivered Terminator: Resistance, not just a "cool game" in and of itself, but also the best Skynet-themed game to date. Destroying terminators is really satisfying and I’m certain that this game will be one of the biggest surprises of 2019 to some shooter lovers out there .”

“We are clear that Terminator: Resistance does not come to compete with the great first-person shooter, but to demonstrate the possibilities offered by a title based on the universe of John Connor. Fans of the saga already have a title with which to face Skynet.”

“Terminator Resistance: Complete Edition ticks a lot of boxes, the story of what happens post-Judgement Day fills in some of the gaps left by James Cameron’s original works and the first few levels where you are stalked by the machines are absolutely brilliant. It’s unfortunate that the game quickly becomes a by-the-numbers shooter with its baffling AI, bland environments and dull gameplay. The included DLC does help matters a little, with the Infiltrator Mode being a short-lived highlight, but unless you’re a diehard Terminator fan, it’s probably not for you.”

“More than just being really easy, Terminator: Resistance is also very short. Even when completing most of the side-quests, expect to negotiate the entire experience in less than 10 hours.”

“Despite feeling out of date in one too many key areas, Terminator: Resistance manages to serve up a campaign just about worthy enough for those looking to switch their brain off and enjoy some mindless action. Its efforts to heighten the importance of relationships and interactions go a long way to differentiating the experience but held back by technical deficiencies, the vision isn’t quite fully realised.”

“Terminator: Resistance is reminiscent of the days when tie-in games were released with practically every action movie. It's playable, but it's forgettable. It's fun to get your chance to shoot Terminators in the face and see John Connor being John Connor (instead of the mess he became in the various sequels), but beyond that, there's not much to recommend it. If you're a die-hard Terminator fan who is eager for a chance to visit the future of the original movies, then it might be worth a go. It's difficult to recommend for anyone else, though.”

“Everything is here and had the potential to be proper Terminator cannon being a ‘prequel’ to both films. Instead, we’re left with a game that if it was a colour would be grey. Just there, nothing special, nothing stand out, just part of the colour spectrum, and easily forgotten over brighter colours. (How’s that for an analogy?) however it has its moments and if you can find it for a few quid then it’s probably worth picking up otherwise it’s the perfect game for Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Now.”

“This is good Terminator game, but there should be better graphics, longer story and multiplayer.”
