How this trust score was computed

Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.

The best part of the game is when Bond gets to the island. There’s no punching, there’s no shooting. You’re just exploring and you have to look after three people who might get assassinated — and I was like, why isn’t the whole game like this? This kind of covert mission is what I expect from Bond. Sure, I want a bit of shooting and driving and punching, but it doesn’t add enough of the real Bond stuff, and I ultimately did not like this experience.

The script is terrible, the twists were predictably dumb, and the humanity isn’t present. The performances aren’t good, and none of the story works for me on any level. In terms of mechanics, the traversal that made it stand out for me before is not interesting this time around. It was all too easy, too fast and too simple.

I never want to be the “it just gets good later” kind of guy, but in this case it really is true — for a good monster hunting experience, it doesn’t heat up until 15 hours in.

    Mortal Kombat 1Feb 16, 2024

I think it’s a really, really solid game. I really enjoy it a lot. And I’m going to give it an official SVG score of a solid eight out of ten.

    StarfieldAug 31, 2023

Starfield is a pretty good time. It’s basically Fallout 4 in space with some sci-fi and some procedural generation.

It’s a struggle to encapsulate what a wonderful, marvelous experience this is, and how carefully the developers have addressed all of the concerns from the past — and those concerns weren’t huge! Despite doing a great job the first time out, they rolled up their sleeves, take a look at what didn’t work perfectly and now everything here is just so, so good.

A really, really fun experience that is getting sh*t on for no reason other than groupthink, herd mentality and people on the bandwagon.

There are a lot of great ideas here, and what you go through in the adventure is just awesome. But without spoiling, Stray is really just about just the beautiful, intuitive experience of being a cat.
