How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 51 | 18 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 76% | 71 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 73% | 69 | 390 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“Totally Reliable Delivery Service feels like a bit of a prank. It's a game so doggedly determined to annoy you with its infuriating control scheme, shocking graphics and poor implementation of DLC, we can't imagine anyone genuinely enjoying it.”

“While I have a deep love for weird and funky games they can be tough to pull off well...”

“It's understandable that Totally Reliable Delivery Service doesn't aim to be a typical video game, where your purpose is just to deliver goods. The island the tipsy protagonist will explore is a gargantuan playground, where players are supposed to have fun with the over-amplified physics and cumbersome way it all controls. They are supposed to. They won't.”

“The idea of an open world to explore and goof around with friends is hampered by awful controls, an empty world, tedious gameplay, and a boatload of glitches. There are far better options for party games on Switch that will give you much less frustration, guaranteed. While the aim was clearly to deliver a goofy package, it seems the package never quite arrived.”

“Totally Reliable Delivery Service is a game that might provide passing entertainment to a group of friends for an hour or two; and the more challenging deliveries do generate some hilarious moments whilst making one ever more determined to try and complete them. But the novelty soon wears off, and there’s not really anything here that is likely to convince many to stay.”

“Totally Reliable Delivery Service is a slapstick physics-based delivery game where players control floppy ragdoll couriers attempting to transport fragile packages across an open world using various vehicles, often with chaotic results. Inspired by games like QWOP, the controls are deliberately clumsy, requiring players to manually manipulate arms and movements to grab, drive, and deliver. The game shines most in multiplayer chaos, offering absurd fun as players crash, fumble, and occasionally succeed. While the humor and unpredictability provide entertainment, especially for streamers or short bursts with friends, the core gameplay lacks depth, making it better as a goofy sideshow than a long-term game.”

“If you enjoy games like Human: Fall Flat and Goat Simulator and are looking for a casual game to play with friends and family, Totally Reliable Delivery Service will be a great fit for you.”

“When Totally Reliable Delivery Service is working as it’s supposed too, it’s a hoot. It’s a visually simplistic but colourful game with chilled out backing music and a really simplistic gameplay loop that even a 3-year-old can understand.”

“I definitely recommend Totally Reliable Delivery Service, so grab some friends and make those deliveries.”

“TRDS is a fun game to mess around with but that fun for me didn’t last long. I can see this title being a lot of fun with families that just want to mess around in a large open world and create their own amusement with the tools provided. I think if you’re a dedicated gamer who likes the idea of tough controls, hard to control vehicles and delivering packages, this might be for you as well.”

“With a friend, there's enough humor in Totally Reliable Delivery Service to keep you laughing. Yet the aimless world, janky controls, and glitchy nature eventually fall flat.”

“The lack of meaningful gameplay, try-hard humor, and day one DLC make it hard to recommend. You could get some laughs by getting some friends together and goofing off in the open world, but there are much better alternatives out there you could spend your money on.”
