How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Creator reviews (3 tracked) | – | 87 | 2 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 88% | 82 | 1000 |

| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 90% | 84 | 68 |

“And now it is time for NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, which corrects almost all the flaws of the original release. You can still easily see glimpses of old NieR here - it's almost the same exact game. And that's great, because even after all those years there's still nothing like it.”

“NieR: Replicant ver.1.22474487139… brings us back to simpler times of 2010 and reminds us the roots of the series. This remaster aims to bring NieR: Replicant to wider audiences and it does just that. Visuals are improved, gameplay stays relatively the same.”

“Remaster NieR admires not as much as NieR: Automata, because of the ragged pace of storytelling. But it is still a good action with a wonderful plot, which benefited from improvements in the gameplay.”

“The shotgun blast of gameplay types and tonal shifts isn’t quite as varied or seamlessly integrated as it is in Nier Automata, but it’s still impressive just how far ahead of the curve the original game actually was.”

“NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... is a great new version of the 2010 cult classic on a slightly more modern base. Improved graphics, environments, combat system, animation and dubbing add a new feel to the title even though the game isn't quite perfect. Unfortunately, the overall impression is somewhat spoiled by boring and repetitive side quests, as well as enemies or older game mechanics. The story, however, is one of the strongest you can experience in the game world. It and the well-drawn characters are the best NieR Replicant has to offer. It may not reach the same quality as NieR: Automata, but it's definitely worth it!”

“NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... is what that the original should have been from the start. A more polished and expanded game with an improved combat system while keeping the stunning aspects of the old NieR. If I were to rate this game only from a die-hard fan's perspective, I would give it an even higher score.”

“This handful of nitpicks notwithstanding, NieR Replicant is a resounding success and a great opportunity to experience a remastered version of this hidden gem.”

“. is peerless in many ways, but also the same old story-an auteur nearly swallowed by the industry manages to get out his masterpiece after the smash success of his more palatable work. I, for one, am happy it happened.”

“Nier Replicant™ ver.1.22474487139... manages to fix the issues that plagued the original release, but the PC port introduces a few new ones that can thankfully be solved by mods. It is, however, a beautiful work with a truly great soundtrack that deserves its place as a great story-driven game.”

“I loved the original. I love this remake. And if you’ve never played the original or you did, you owe it to yourself to give this one a check. It’s a game that was always good made that much better, and it’s going to stick with you a long time after the credits roll on the final ending.”

“Ver 1.22 had the chance to take a cult classic and make it one of the best games in recent memory, but instead I'm left wondering what could have been; just like eleven years ago.”
