How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Ghostrunner is incredibly fast, violent, and fun, taking the parkour elements of games like Mirror’s Edge and slapping them into a vibrant cyberpunk world with actually decent first-person combat”

“Ghostrunner is a game that elevates developers from One More Level to a completely new level. The project on display here is something truly special, something you can compare to the never-ending hard rush of adrenaline with great cyberpunk aesthetic design and soundscape.”

“Great graphics, even better with RTX on, super optimization, excellent motion system, story slightly average, but not so important for this game. Except for a few smaller bugs where you get somewhere you shouldn't or get stuck, Ghostrunner is an excellent title that definitely deserves your attention.”

“Furious mix of Hotline Miami and Mirror's Edge with dystopian cyberpunk setting. What other reasons do you need?”

“I find Ghostrunner to be a nice and fresh wind in this genre. Setting the game in cyberpunk was really good. The variety of enemies and the different ways to get to the end point really entertains. If you give Ghostrunner a chance, it literally pulls you in and doesn't let go. However, the game is quite short, about 5 hours of pure gameplay, and after a while it can feel heavily repetitive.”

“Remorselessly fun, Ghostrunner makes a good argument for bringing a sword to a gunfight.”

“So, should you buy Ghostrunner? Maybe. This is a punishingly difficult game by most metrics, but those of you who like a worthy challenge will find plenty to love here. Blink-and-you-miss-it gameplay and some light replayability elements make for a title that at least proves itself to be worth the price of admission. That being said, rough performance and some occasionally unbalanced difficulty can make for an experience that's often more frustrating than it is fun. If you have another console which can run Ghostrunner, we'd recommend you pick it up there unless you really want to play this one on the go. Otherwise, this game is worth your time, but perhaps wait for a sale before you rush out to pick it up.”

“A futuristic FPS from Poland? This autumn has more to offer than just Cyberpunk 2077. Ghostrunner is a very intense “one-hit game”, you kill them, or they kill you. The 8 hours I have spent with the game provided tons of fun. I can even say that I became addicted to being in constant movement and playing with death by using a trial and error method.”

“If you want a surprise entry in the action genre, look no further than the fast and frenetic Ghostrunner. Granted, its difficulty curve will frustrate you not unlike a Souls-like game, but once you get to the rhythm and groove of it, you'll ace it and aim for a better run.”

“I've continued to be pleasantly surprised or even a bit amazed at the types of titles that developers have gotten running on Switch, especially when they're pretty ambitious visually...”

“Ghostrunner on PS5 is probably the best way to experience developer One More Level's rage-inducingly difficult but absolutely addictive and enjoyable cyberpunk assassin game.”
