How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 59 | 123 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 50% | 52 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 47 | 58 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 54% | 55 | 679 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“If you're a die-hard South Park fan looking for a humorous game to play with friends, South Park: Snow Day could be a good choice for a short, mildly fun experience. However, if you're seeking a lengthy, more enthralling adventure like the previous South Park titles, this game will fall short of your expectations.”

“Boring, repetitive and unfunny. We'd rather see no new South Park games than failures like this one.”

“Despite being occasionally funny, the game is never fun.”

“SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! attempted to branch out by bringing a new experience to the South Park gaming universe, but unfortunately failed in many respects. Repetitive gameplay, technical issues, and, above all, the absence of the signature humor and satire that are the backbone of this franchise leave fans feeling rather disappointed. There may be some who appreciate the cooperative gameplay, but even that won’t be enough to keep players coming back to the game.”

“South Park: Snow Day! has a lot of potential with some of its roguelike-inspired mechanics but ultimately fails to deliver an engaging experience whether you're playing it solo or in co-op. Combat feels unresponsive, the technical issues are numerous (on Switch at least), and the writing is some of the weakest in the series.”

“South Park Snow Day did its best to captivate the essence of the famous adult-rated series but felt ineffective regarding its gameplay.”

“South Park: Snow Day is a step backwards for the show’s library of games. It could be worth a good laugh or two, especially with friends, but you’ll get a lot more of them from the show itself. There must not have been a lot of faith in this one considering its very small price tag of $30 compared to the new standard of $70. But honestly, you’re better off taking that $30 and putting it towards Ubisoft’s older South Park games, The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole. Those will offer more enjoyment than Snow Day ever could.”

“South Park: Snow Day!’s most prominent issue is one of fundamentals. The game’s namesake is very much intact and handled exactly in the way you would hope as a fan of the show, but the meat and potatoes of the actual gameplay leave much to be desired. Its humorous, surprisingly robust roguelike elements and attention paid to its source material simply aren’t enough to offset the detriments to its simplistic combat and repetitive structure.”

“A third-person roguelike brawler that celebrates immature humor and co-op destruction.”

“Snow Day is pretty thin when it comes to both style and substance, offering not quite enough of either to hold up long-term, even with decent multiplayer support and interesting Roguelike bits.”

“While appropriately profane and featuring some great ideas for customization, Snow Day’s gameplay struggles”

“THQ Nordic has truly channelled its namesake with South Park: Snow Day, an underbaked, content-less licensed game that imbues the worst of the PS2-era for a modern audience. Stay indoors. ”
