How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Metaphorically speaking, the developers at Pugstorm have left more than half the carrot buried in the soil.

Radical Rabbit Stew isn’t a long game, it isn’t a super complex game, but it IS a fun game, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. The levels are perfect little bite-sized chunks I can pick up whenever, and it hits that mix of challenging enough to be engaging without being frustratingly so.

Radical Rabbit Stew is a thoroughly enjoyable experience from top to bottom. From the arcade, slapstick action of punting rabbits into bowls of soup, to the thought-provoking map puzzles, this action-puzzler offers a unique and interesting take on the genre, even with the sometimes repetitive nature, and boss fights that utilize overly similar ideas from world to world.

Radical Rabbit Stew does start to get a bit dull pretty fast. It seems there really is a limit to how long you can play a game where you fling rabbits around (who knew?) and it seems to be about two hours, when that trophy pops. It’s better than a mobile game, because it’s on console and you can use buttons, but please don’t go in expecting much more than that formula. Probably best played in a dozen bitesize sittings than one marathon.

Radical Rabbit Stew starts as a full loving game, with frantic puzzles and charming visuals until you realize you’re entire goal is to smack rabbits into giant pots. With each stage designed with agility in mind as a lone chef not only pots deadly rabbits but avoids cannons, bombs, and zombies to rescue his friends from a petty rabbit queen. Radical Rabbit Stew is a short but active adventure through colorful worlds that encourages you to keep moving.

You’ll be greeted with some really smart puzzles, a great difficulty curve that will constantly add new mechanics and features for you to deal with, a deep (but flawed) level creator, and that typical “so bad it’s good” pun-infested sense of humor I can’t help but love.

Radical Rabbit Stew is a fun little romp through a zany, retro-themed world. Whacking rabbits around with your super spoon is a fun main mechanic, complimented by a number of others along the way. You may find yourself scratching your head a few times at some of the puzzles, but it’s definitely a good game. Perhaps its biggest flaw is that it is on the short side, but it makes up for this with a built-in level editor, allowing players to create and share their own levels! For the Steam version being reviewed here, this is done via Steam Workshop. The editor lets you select items from various wheels, similar to what Nintendo did in Mario Maker 2. Steam says I’ve spent between 6 and 7 hours in the main adventure, and that includes collecting all of the blue coins, which nets you an extra secret after the credits roll. Radical Rabbit Stew is available on the Steam Store for $15.99. You can also find it on several other platforms. Can you whack your way through all the rabbit queen’s minions and defeat her to rescue the legendary space chefs?

You get cooked in a pot, and no one wants to play with you. It is truly a sad day for rabbits everywhere. The difficulty of the puzzles was lacking, and new elements failed to build on a weak concept. Unfortunately, not much of this piqued my interest past the initial world. Do I recommend this? Not really. If you do like retro puzzle games, you may wish to buy it here! Become the chef and cook every rabbit in sight. It’s not a tough task, as every puzzle is a piece of cake to solve.
