How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| All-time Steam reviews | 93% | 87 | 736 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 85 | 34 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 91% | 85 | 325 |

“"An action RPG to cure the worst PS2-era nostalgia cravings."”

“Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a wonderful retread of a forgotten classic, smartly polishing up its best parts and modifying its worst parts to make for an overall more enjoyable experience. Though the visuals are just 'okay' and the detective gameplay can be a bit plain, the action-packed combat, reworked demon fusion, and interesting story all come together to make for a gripping adventure.I'd recommend you pick this one up if you're curious and you think it may be up your alley. I've never played anything quite like Raidou, and it offers a very unique take not just on the standard SMT formula, but action RPGs on the whole.”

“While it’s a bit on the shorter side, the distinctive setting and endearing story make for a fun, decently sized adventure, even if the game is still a bit rough around the edges in other regards. For RPGamers looking for a good action RPG, or especially for SMT fans interested in something different from the series’ typical elements, Raidou Remastered is an experience worth picking up.”

“Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a fascinating, stylish, and refreshingly different take on the Shin Megami Tensei formula. For newcomers like me who missed the original, this remaster is a gift. For returning fans, the updated combat, added content, and modern polish make it worth diving into all over again.”

“Raidou Remastered is a fine remake of an underrated PlayStation 2 action title involving the Shin Megami Tensei demon-summoning brand. New players will enjoy what's in store though they shouldn't expect a Persona game. Veterans will appreciate the many, many changes that make the combat challenging and fun, as well as the new look and voice acting. Consider this case solved and filed under "well-deserved", even if some of its fighting can get spotty in the latter half.”

“The remaster’s quality-of-life improvements, like streamlined menus and faster load times, are appreciated, but they can’t fully mask the game’s age. The story, while interesting with its mix of occult conspiracies and historical intrigue, unfolds at a sluggish pace, and the cast, outside of Raidou and Gouto, lacks depth to carry emotional weight. Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a solid effort to revive a niche gem, and its unique setting and demon-collecting hooks still shine. The repetitive and stiff combat and uneven pacing keep it from greatness, but it's still come a long way from its PlayStation 2 origins. It’s a nostalgic trip worth taking for Shin Megami Tensei fans or those curious about its lesser-known corners, but it’s not quite the rousing action game it could be.”

“RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a great success for Atlus, offering much more than just a technical overhaul. This return of the 14th Devil Summoner skillfully blends nostalgia and modernity, with welcome additions that make the experience smoother, more immersive, and as intriguing as ever. While it doesn't reach the production heights of some of the studio's contemporary titles, this re-release is still an excellent way to rediscover a lesser-known part of the Shin Megami Tensei series. For long-time fans and curious newcomers alike looking for an atypical action RPG with a touch of the occult, it's well worth the journey.”

“Raidou Remastered gives one of Atlus' most experimental PS2 outings a deserved second chance. Better described as a remake, a huge list of improvements, including a superbly reworked combat system, make this a must-try for the developer's modern audience. Raidou remains a uniquely weird and compelling action RPG, and this is its definitive form.”

“Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is more than a remaster, it is the version that should have been originally released 20 years ago. It looks better, plays better and is less frustrating. This corrected and augmented version is a worthy return of a game that was eaten by its own obscurity and its original problems prevented it from transcending any further.”

“RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of The Soulless Army succeeds in staying true to the original 2005 game, bringing some quality-of-life improvements and new content without significantly altering the original experience. Although combat remains the weakest aspect of the paranormal detective’s first solo adventure, RAIDOU Remastered does a great job of introducing the franchise to a new generation of fans while welcoming back longtime followers who have been waiting for the series return.”
