How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| All-time Steam reviews | 94% | 89 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 79 | 2 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 100% | 97 | 1 |

“Lethal League was enjoyable to play offering a fair selection of modes, characters and arenas to battle in.”

“Lethal League is worth checking out, especially is you have the means to play it on the couch with friends. The online mode is decent but the offline experience is where it’s at.”

“A game with a very unique premise and a lot of potential for both casual and competitive players. With its high price tag for its lack of content, it's going to be a cult hit among a small number of players but won't go beyond that.”

“Having finally experienced the intense chaotic fun that Lethal League is known for, its no wonder why it was such a hit on PC. Despite a few minor setbacks, Lethal League is perfect for fans of Super Smash Bros. and anyone looking for some great multiplayer fun.”

“You can't go wrong with Lethal League, a perfect mix of baseball and dodge-ball. Everything in the game is almost perfect, starting from its netcode, powered by GGPO middleware. You'll get tons of fun, with this addictive arcade style game. Windjammers' spirit is alive and kickin'!”

“The game is simple to get to grips with but complex enough that it can be challenging.”

“Even with moments of trivial gaming here and there, I still have hopes for this game that maybe they will have this upgraded soon or someone out there will prove me wrong. Who knows?”

“Aside from lacking robust online options and a few clunky menus, Lethal League is an amazing package. It’s my personal favorite of the revival of couch co-op games, and may be my favorite “tell a friend” game of all time.”

“Lethal League is a very creative brawler that's easy to learn. The fitting soundtrack and unusual way of fighting make it a very fun game to play.”

“Lethal League is a lean, intricately detailed fighting game designed for everyone in 2014, and what’s more, it’s a smashing good time.”

“Unique gameplay mashups and twists are great at hooking a prospective player, but if the game doesn’t evolve past that initial gameplay, they won’t play for long. Lethal League’s unique qualities like the gameplay and the arcade feel don’t compensate for a game that has very little depth and repetitious gameplay. It would have been worth three or four quarters back in my arcade days, but then I would have moved on to a different game. Don’t get sucked in by this magic trick; and for goodness sake, put your wallet on a chain.”
