How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 65 | 20 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 52% | 53 | 29 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 18% | 29 | 1 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“While The Bunker lets you explore an actual nuclear fallout shelter, accompanied by great sound design and decent acting, it can be completed in a single sitting. There's very little in terms of gameplay variance, and there are other games out there that'll give you more playtime for your $12. Unless you like the novelty of an FMV game on your Switch, give it a pass unless there's a sale.”

“The Bunker puts legacy FMV games to shame, delivering a slickly produced psychological horror experience for the price of a trip to your local cinema.”

“Since it isn’t a very long experience (maybe 2 - 3 hours, total) I suppose you could go back through to try to find everything or see how it could play out differently but I found my one run to be satisfying enough. Overall, if you’re down for an experience in this bleak sort of setting, with a story that intrigues and an outcome that may telegraph a bit but is still interesting to watch unfold, The Bunker is a very different kind of experience you haven’t yet had on the Switch.”

“Despite a compelling performance from Adam Brown, The Bunker fails to capture that same talent in regards to its writing and direction, leading to a messy pseudo-film filled with pacing issues and a lack of commitment to either of the two mediums it's trying to merge.”

“As the industry gears up for another bumper holiday season, The Bunker offers something a little different. It doesn't attempt to give you a bulk of gameplay or mechanics, but it makes up for this and more in its plot and characters. Don't let this experience pass you by if you're looking for an interesting and superb story, because we think this is the FMV genre at its very best.”

“It's short, and replayability is pushed for because of the insertion of collectibles and a branching path ending. But I didn't find these enticing enough to come back. Once in the Bunker, was enough for me.”

“The Bunker won't appeal to players looking for a long, deep experience. It's short, and the interactive elements are sparse, with little punishment for making any mistakes. Horror film buffs will likely appreciate the game's strong narrative and its atmospheric tension, though. If you fall into the latter category, The Bunker is certainly worth checking out on Switch.”

“Live action games rise again, just about, in this clumsy but earnest adventure.”

“The Bunker is a well written short film with some good acting. It’s not really a game though, so it ultimately fails to live up to expectations.”

“Despite my initial impressions, I really enjoyed The Bunker. I’m never going to play it again, but for the couple of hours it lasted it held my attention and expertly racked up the tension. It is certainly not for everyone, but it entertained me for it’s duration and you can’t really ask much more than that. Grab your significant other and some popcorn and The Bunker will make a great evenings viewing.”

“Overall though I found The Bunker very entertaining despite it’s brief lasting time. It tells a well thought out and well acted story that will have you guessing and trying to figure it out until it ends. I really hope to see more FMV games like this one in the future as it’s a unique gaming experience unlike most others. Sit down, turn the lights off, and enjoy you’re stay in The Bunker.”

“The Bunker won’t be for everybody, but those enticed by a slower-paced experience that’s rich in atmosphere are in for a treat, even if it is over in just a couple of short hours.”
