How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is another quite successful game from the iconic brand. The varied campaign mode and engaging multiplayer mode is definitely a recipe for good fun with friends.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions aces its flying and gameplay mechanics and offers a lot of cool iconic elements from the movies like brooms, stadiums, characters, and more but the nostalgia is not enough to extend its lifespan. You will love spending some initial hours into the game and a few of the online matches are excellent but unfortunately, it does not offer much that would compel you to replay this game every day. It may become your weekend game to jump in and play a few Quidditch games, but it will not make you boot your console or PC every day just to jump into it and that is a bummer. We still think that this should have been included in last year’s Hogwarts Legacy. If you are a fan of the franchise and want to see Quidditch come back to life, this game will certainly keep you entertained, at least for a few hours.

Quidditch Champions is an enjoyable, well-made game that, starting out with very low expectations, surprised me in a positive way. The gameplay is not trivial and requires a good degree of attention to bring home good results. The multiplayer is fun with a group of friends and pushes you to learn all the roles well and have good teamwork. But how long such a simple game formula like this can last?

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions plays the best game of Quidditch we've ever seen in video game form. There's good fun to be had both solo and with other people online, and the customisation aspects are pretty cool too - especially considering there are no paid microtransactions to be found. We have concerns about longevity considering the limited campaign and singular 3v3 multiplayer mode, but the quality of the gameplay should be enough to keep our brooms from getting too dusty in the foreseeable future.

The idea behind the development of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is far from simple. For years, fans have been hoping for a videogame experience based around this aerial sport. However, the monetization strategy is perhaps not ideal. It might have been interesting to make it free at the outset, with cosmetic microtransactions to make development profitable. It remains to be seen whether its 1-month integration into PS Plus will have been enough to create a sufficiently large player base. The title is undoubtedly a good adaptation of Quidditch, very accessible despite its somewhat chaotic nature. However, don't expect gameplay to be redefined from match to match. I particularly recommend the game to hardcore fans of the license and those who might like to join up with friends to complete online matches.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a surprisingly fun experience, with a variety of modes to sink your teeth into. There are some nice references to the books and films for diehard Potter fans, in addition to smooth flying controls that ultimately make the game fun to play. There are a few issues, noticeably regarding balance and the longevity of its single player content, but if you like the idea of playing a competitive sporting game in the Wizarding World, then it's definitely worth checking out.

Every Harry Potter fan has wished to feel the air on his face while flying on a broom at full speed in search of the golden Snitch. Harry Potter Quidditch Champions succeeds in fulfilling that dream halfway, because it conveys the excitement of the matches but turns off after a few hours. The lack of content and game modes make the experience become repetitive, plus the campaign is short and the rewards are not worth it. If you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber give it a try and judge for yourself.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a very fun game. If new content updates and game modes are added, I think it will be playable for many years.

There is some fun to be had in Quidditch Champions but that mileage is going to vary by player for sure. Hardcore Potter heads will probably love being able to experience this sport, and chasing all of the unlockables

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions offers a magical and fun experience that stays (mostly) true to the Wizarding World. Winning feels incredibly satisfying, but the gameplay stumbles when it comes to switching between each player.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions looks on paper like the perfect way to fill the gap between Hogwarts Legacy and the next "big" release under the Portkey Games banner

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions seemed to fit the theme of the universe, but it had a rough entry into the gaming world with poor gameplay and bugs.
