How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 86% | 79 | 41 |

“If detail management is not your cup of tea, your experience with Cladun X3 may end in frustration. With that considered, this is a very well-built action adventure that provides enough fun and depth to occupy dedicated players for quite a while.”

“As it is, loot hounds will be happy with the constantly evolving magic circles and equipment, but the unbalanced progression and uneven presentation will not do this quirky dungeon crawler any favours in finding more than a niche audience.”

“There are so few games for those who love really deep character customisation, and that is for a good reason. They usually tend to lock out less system-oriented players, as it is difficult to create a game with such depth without making the system mandatory or feel truly pointless. However, Cladun X3 manages to do this in a wonderful way, and in the process, creates a JRPG that can be enjoyed by all fans of the genre, regardless of how many systems they want to delve into. In the niche Cladun X3 occupies, it is among the best the industry has to offer and does not force its systems upon players until they are ready for them. This is a title that developers of non-linear RPGs should take a look at when designing their games, as Nippon Ichi Software really is onto something here!”

“Is Cladun X3 going to appeal to the casual RPG gamer? Probably not. The game does require a lot of patience because of all the grinding. Some people might also find the story to be too simple. I personally liked the game and think that it has a great amount of content for the $39.99 price tag, but it won’t be for everyone.”

“Cladun X3 may challenge you at first, but once it clicks, it’s a fun dungeon crawler”

“Overall, there is a lot of fun to be had in Cladun X3. This hack and slash looter is full of different items, gear, and customization that can keep someone who enjoys this genre occupied for hours on end. There are enough changes in terms of the structure of progression and enough of the original foundation of Cladun to keep players, both returning and new, happy with this entry.”

“Cladun X3 reminded me of how the Nintendo Switch has a variety of dungeon crawler RPGs and overall, it's a good addition to the genre for those looking to explore dangerous dungeons filled with powerful enemies.”

“Cladun X3 is the kind of action RPG that hides its complexity and depth of content behind a deceptively straightforward concept.”

“Cladun X3 is a super-customisable action RPG that boasts plenty of small dungeons and intuitive combat. The need to grind and micromanage everything can be a bit much but the lively spirit of it all is still sure to make you smile as you play.”
