How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| All-time Steam reviews | 79% | 73 | 1000 |

| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 88% | 81 | 62 |

“A mediocre “remaster” of an utterly superb game, which rounds out to a pretty good package overall, provided you’ve never tried it before.”

“When Darksiders II sticks to the actual essentials of the main story and not its so-called Deathinitive features, it's a solid action-adventure-RPG hybrid.”

“This very decent Deathinitive Edition includes all of the DLC and commendably improves the assets and lighting effects, but it gets slightly cut down by our scythe of criticism for minor glitches and framerate woes.”

“With all of the included DLC, there's a good amount of gameplay and value, and the revamped way it applies the DLC to the game is novel enough to force everyone to experience the content as it was meant to be.”

“Darksiders II deserves a better remake on current-gen consoles. This Deathinitive Edition lacks some polish but still deserves attention from those who haven’t yet experienced the original version.”

“It’s not original, and it’s often unfocused, but Darksiders II remains one of the better Zelda clones, even if this slipshod remaster does it few favours.”

“Darksiders II is an excellent last gen game that deserves its place on the current gen platforms. This remaster is not perfect but is a must buy package for those who never played the original 2012 game. ”

“Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition brings the original’s diverse world, interesting dungeons, and great loot system to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Sure, the story is dull, and there aren’t a whole lot of original ideas at play here, but the vast expanse of the adventure should please anyone who missed out on it the first time around.”

“A by-the-numbers remaster, then, and one that would've benefited from a bit more love. For those who just wanted to see what all the fuss was about on their Xbox One or PS4, however, it suffices.”

“It's still an excellent game over three years removed from its original release, and having all of its content in one place here with spruced up visuals and tweaked loot distribution is nice -- but the graphical hiccups are a disappointment, although likely patchable. Still, for $30 or less, this is one of the best buys in gaming this holiday for anyone that hasn't played Darksiders II before.”

“For $29.99, it’s a good value for someone new to franchise and only veterans who aren’t expecting a “Definitive” Edition.”

“I want nothing more than to see the formula flourish into something amazing, but Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is incapable of doing that. Although, I’m not opposed to seeing Vigil Games take another shot at it with a third entry.”
