How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 94 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 30 times.

- 85Moonlighter 2: The Endless VaultAug 31, 2026
“Ultimately, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is a great experience. Digital Sun has delivered a highly entertaining roguelite that is easy to get lost in. It is a case of quality over quantity; while that is usually a good thing, in this instance, a bit more content would have substantially elevated the final experience. ”

“It is a title that will surely appeal to fans of this saga. However, it does not offer much compared to the previous installment.”

“I see no compelling reason to pass this up, as the games were solid from the start; the only potential letdown is their presentation.”

“ When it comes to the combat system, Arc System Works set out to create an experience that anyone can enjoy, regardless of their level of experience with the genre—a goal the studio achieved brilliantly. While some might find fault with the selection of fighters, stages, or game modes, there is no denying that Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is one of the most entertaining experiences of the year, and I can't wait to see how professional players take this title to the top at EVO in the future. ”

“Beast of Reincarnation shines brightly thanks to its well-executed combat, fascinating world-traveling, and interesting level design. However, its poor performance, image quality, and graphical inconsistencies prevent it from becoming one of the best games of the year.”

“ Beast of Reincarnation shines thanks to its well-crafted combat, highly engaging interconnected world, and excellent level design. However, its poor performance, weak image quality, and inconsistent visuals prevent it from becoming one of the best games of the year. It's a real shame that a title built on such solid foundations and executed with such clear focus is almost completely overshadowed by corporate decisions to release it before it was ready. The only hope now is that upcoming patches will address the issues I've mentioned, because in its current state, I find it very difficult to recommend. ”

“ Halo Studios is putting significant effort into everything that Halo: Campaign Evolved represents, adding compelling new content and gameplay changes aimed at modernizing the beloved 2001 classic, all while giving it a complete visual overhaul in Unreal Engine 5. However, many of these efforts fail to come together as smoothly as they should, resulting in issues that you simply wouldn't expect from a project of this caliber. It's hard to believe that all of these rough edges were overlooked and that the game was still given the green light, especially considering that Xbox continues to struggle through a difficult period, with no clear indication of whether it will be able to recover. The brand needs to deliver near perfection, and unfortunately, this latest effort falls short of that standard.”

“ It is a fighting game with a lot of potential, thanks to the level of detail in the controls. However, as an Avatar product, I feel there are some shortcomings worth noting, as it fails to enrich the saga's universe due to a story mode that ultimately falls short. ”

“The quest for the perfect Avatar: The Last Airbender video game continues, as none of the previous attempts met the desired standard, but at least this one made a valiant effort. It remains to be seen whether competitive players will embrace it and if it will eventually become a mainstream esport.”

“If you've spent all these years caught up in the ink-covered battles between Inklings, Octolings, and the rest of the sea-dwelling cast, we're confident that Splatoon Raiders will be one of the standout experiences on your Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Likewise, if you've never given the series a chance because of its multiplayer focus but have always been intrigued by it, now is the perfect time to jump in. Nintendo may not be delivering the year's biggest blockbuster, but it has once again brought us an experience overflowing with fun—one that's so well crafted and thoughtfully designed that, from the very moment you pick it up, it's incredibly hard to put down. ”

“DOOM is synonymous with FPS games. It doesn't matter how much time passes. It doesn't matter how many companies try to take its crown. It doesn't matter if id Software runs out of employees. DOOM is an institution, and there's nothing Xbox, Microsoft, or any other company can do to change that. If this is the end of the saga that began in 2016, I'm more than certain the next chapter will be sensational.”
