How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 92% | 86 | 3000 |

“Sometimes you want a game to play while watching TV or just needing to kill time. The $39.99 price I feel is too much, especially with the crashes. But if it goes on sale, give Two Point Hospital a shot.”

“"Nintendo Switch needs more simulation games like this."”

“Two Point Hospital is a fairly successful representative of the genre that is not the most popular today on consoles, which is very easy to learn how to play and generally very friendly for beginners. Taking into account the humor and fun of the gameplay, this is a good motivation to spend your free time in it.”

“Two Point Hospital may easily cheer you up for a couple hours, but lack of variety and clumsy AI may kill the light of joy as good as any De-Lux Clinic.”

“Two Point Hospital takes the mantra "if ain't broke don't fix it" to heart. This spiritual successor to Theme Hospital does enough to differentiate itself from the original but stays true to its core concept.”

“The highest praise we can give Two Point Hospital is that it feels impossible not to have fun with it.”

“While Two Point Hospital offers a nostalgic experience for Theme Hospital fans, the lack of more challenging and diverse scenarios is a big letdown.”

“Fans of the original Theme Hospital will find a worthy successor to the old strategy with pretty graphics and some very important tweaks but without drastic changes to the formula. However, the clunky mechanics and too much micromanagement could discourage new players.”

“An excellent spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, Two Point Hospital also stands on its own. A unique style of humor, a mostly wonderful UI, and a great experience fills out the experience.”

“Sharing a thought, in many ways I still have a real beef with EA and the fact that they absorbed and pretty well ruined at least two classic studios that were dear to me...”

“Two Point Hospital naturally plays better with a keyboard and mouse, but the Switch suits this Theme Hospital successor wonderfully well. It might be difficult to read or see particular texts in handheld mode, and the controls can take a little adjustment time, but any management sim fan owes it to themselves to check out this game. Technical issues, a degree of tedium in base game content, and the fact this supposed all-in-one edition is still missing some recent expansions aside, the variety of stages thanks to the included DLC and wealth of silly humour deliver a fun twist on what is otherwise a difficult field to work in.”

“Despite these issues, I remain optimistic that Two Point Studios can add some polish this game into a true gem. As it stands now, Two Point Hospital is an amazing game that demonstrates that an old school idea doesn’t have to die, it just needs to recover and emerge stronger than ever for a modern age.”
