How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“I found Party Hard 2 lacking in anything to keep me interested. There are only so many times and so many ways you can kill people to end a party. The whole idea and concept of the game just felt generic and contrived in an attempt to be edgy. I find it very hard to recommend. Party Hard 2 is anything but a party.”

“There are undeniably some issues that need to be ironed out, most entertainingly highlighted by NPCs gleefully ignoring murders in one stage so long as they’re performed with a forklift, but the underlying promise here really shines through when everything is working as expected. The biggest issue is that things don’t always work as expected; during one stage that begins by forcing you to kill four bikers with your “ultimate” attack, a randomly-wandering NPC was placed close enough that the police were chasing me seconds in through no fault of my own. You can forget about evading police in Party Hard 2, as well, with the pairs of officers that show up having a preternatural talent for knowing where you are and boxing you in.”

“This strategy based game focused around diabolical murder in order to get some much needed sleep is absolutely wonderful. Different characters, levels, and so much in each level to explore! Definitely worth a look, especially if you need to relieve some stress from frustrating neighbours who maybe party too much.”

It can be frustrating when you're caught and sent back to the start of a level, but so long as you don't find the premise too extreme, there's enough here to scratch your stealth action itch.”

“I’ve got a laundry list of other minor complaints, like how dumb the “boss fights” are, but the randomness is my biggest issue. It turns what could be an interesting, thoughtful sort of puzzle game into a series of pulls on a slot machine. That’s not necessarily entirely bad, and you can get some fun out of it regardless, but it’s a mixed bag.”

The transition from 2D to 2.5D has worked really well for this title and now there are a lot more environmental elements that play important roles in making this game better than its predecessor. Though, there are some issues that make the gamer enjoy it a little less, but the overall result deserves a try.”
