How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Muse Dash is an excellent rhythm game that will keep you entertained for hours. The catchy songs, the game’s dynamic gameplay, and the anime-style graphics work perfectly together. If you enjoy games like Guitar Hero, Just Dance, Magic Titles, and similar titles, you need to add this game to your collection. Another bonus is that you can also buy it for your mobile phone (Android) for a great price of 80 CZK, though purchasing its DLC isn’t quite as pleasant.

While the progression system is mostly sound, I feel that the grind towards stat-altering costumes is somewhat harsh. In addition, the English text lines could have used a little more editing. Those points aside, this is the most complete experience of Muse Dash yet with a constant stream of updates in the pipeline.

Muse Dash is simple, but the polished and addictive gameplay and visuals place it a notch above most rhythm games. A solid library of fun songs and precise beatmaps promises a fun experience, and at a price of only $2.99, it's basically a steal.

My hangups remain as they were a year ago with the lack of any big variations in songs genres, even with the DLC all included here, and the cringe-inducing fan-service that's on display. Even with all that said, this is an easily recommended must-buy for Switch owners looking for a music rhythm game.

Putting the weirdness of the character skins to one side, is Muse Dash worth playing? If you can pick it for a couple of quid, sure. The mechanics are intriguing, the music is alright and there's a fair amount or replayability, given the huge collection of songs available too. If you really want to collect all of the skins, there are a fair few to choose from, but too many of them will get you odd looks on your commute to work.

Solid Rhythm game that has a good variety of songs, and does just enough to feel different from all the other games out there.

Despite some writing issues missed in editing and minor technical issues, this rhythm game is simple, but incredibly fun and has lots of content for the budget price. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of customization and unlockables. Keep in mind though, this is a review of the PC version and the revenue model is different on some other platforms.

Smash enemies and groove to some tunes all while playing as some hip waifus in Muse Dash.

If you want a quick blast of noise and a fun challenge then is right on tempo. The mechanics might be pretty clean cut but this deleteriously bright beat-down is charming.

Despite the heavy emphasis the game has on the the anime hungolomghnonoloughongous, I still heartily and highly recommend Muse Dash. Once in-game, the more suggestive costumes really don’t distract or detract from the gameplay and hey, if you like anime girl chests, all the fanservice is really just a neat little (read: huge) bonus for you.
