How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga turned out to be an exciting, though not an ideal game for the whole family. It offers a large amount of content, but it is obvious that the developers did not cope with the scale of their creation.”

“LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga does everything right. The new mechanics work, some of the changes fit, and the content from all nine movie episodes is a godsend for fans. However, it's a shame that the game time doesn't match it, which, while not negligible, runs into pacing issues when trying to tell the story of the entire saga.”

“The same LEGO game as always, but with some new features that are too good to be forgotten in future LEGO titles.”

“LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an incredible package that alters the expectations for a LEGO game with only a few poorly implemented features holding it back from harnessing the true power of the force.”

“LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a fantastic experience on Switch, a great big celebration of everything Star Wars that's made the jump to Nintendo's console in surprisingly fine form. The upgrades to the series' core gameplay here - the combo-focused combat, flashy space battles, boss encounters, over-the-shoulder shooting action and cover system - all combine to make this the best LEGO Star Wars has ever felt to play. Throw in a humongous open world setting that's bursting at the seams with secrets and collectibles and you've got an absolute smorgasbord of all things Star Wars to dig into. Turns out we were fools to think we could ever get tired of Jedis and lightsabers and the pew-pew-pew of flashy space guns.”

“The Skywalker Saga is exactly what we expected it to be, a fun LEGO version of our favorite movies with dozens of hours of solving puzzles, climbing stuff and destroying everything in our path. A perfect game for kids, or to unwind after a hard day.”

“LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is full of heart and appreciation for the material that would make Star Wars fans rejoice, even if each chapter isn’t filled to the brim with a litany of content.”

“Skywalker Saga is no different, and its unabashed enjoyment of Star Wars is infectious. Even as an un-lapsed fan, I felt my admiration and passion for this rich world surge the same way visiting Galaxy's Edge or a good episode of Clone Wars would. A simple beat-'em-up with a few puzzles and John Williams' masterful music doing a lot of the heavy lifting would be fine. Instead, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga doesn't just go above and beyond to remind you why you should love Star Wars, but is a testament to how much the people who made it love Star Wars.”

“Overall LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is not only a fantastic LEGO title, but a truly great and respectful take on the Star Wars stories. It provides hours upon hours of things to do, find and collect But above all, it’s incredible to explore many of the ships and planets we’ve come to love from the Star Wars franchise. Many of which are appearing in video game form for the first time. The sound design, puts you right into the Star Wars universe immediately from the time you boot it up. And just like LEGO, there’s plenty to love here for gamers of all ages.”

“LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a playful and colourful depiction of a galaxy far, far away, and one that boasts about as much play time as you’d ever want to get out of a single game should you be willing to endure some significant repetition in order to wring every drop out of it. With hilarious retellings of all nine movies and some new gameplay elements, there’s a lot to like, but clunky camera angles and the head-scratching decision to leave out online multiplayer hurts the overall impression. This might just be the definitive LEGO Star Wars game that fans are looking for, but since only Sith deals in absolutes, I’ll leave that judgement to the will of the council.”

“Having always been a big fan of the LEGO series, mainly because they've always made for terrific experiences to share with my more gaming-challenged wife, there's always a crackle of excitement in the air when a new one is around the corner...”
