Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. With a world full of secrets to uncover, a captivating story and cast, and a vast sea to conquer, this remake has not escaped the clutches of modern Ubisoft, which includes battle passes and microtransactions in a single-player game, a whole host of recurring bugs, and a combat system that could have been better. Despite all this, I have to admit that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the 40 or so hours I’ve spent on this title so far, even though the caveats mentioned are factors that prevent this fine slice of piracy from truly surpassing the original version.”

“For anyone looking for an open-world racing game that guarantees fun, boasts incredible graphics and offers gameplay that strikes a good balance between arcade-style action and realism, the truth is that there are no real alternatives on the market. If you enjoyed the previous instalment, Forza Horizon 6 is a safe bet, provided you’re aware that there’s not much in the way of new features. There was potential to better capture the essence of JDM culture, but even with these shortcomings, it remains a highly appealing game that will steal dozens of hours from you.”

“Pragmata gave me a particular sense of enjoyment and interest that I haven’t felt in a Capcom game for a long time, thanks to its originality. It is easy to spot and recognise this Japanese company’s DNA in Pragmata, with the fluidity of the attacks, combat and upgrade systems, although this time the key feature that sets it apart and elevates it to significant heights of execution is the ‘hacking’ element performed by a character who becomes crucial throughout the adventure.”

“Screamer is a game brimming with personality and character, offering an old-school experience that will take you back to simpler times in the world of video games, with updates that are, for the most part, well executed. Despite a story that takes centre stage without merit and some design choices that seem designed to annoy the player, this is, on the whole, a good title within the genre, with a robust onboarding system for the various modes via its campaign mode, plenty of unlockables that don’t break the bank, and handling that, despite initial friction, is worth mastering, making it well worth a look for fans of traditional arcade racing.”

“At the moment, Marathon seems to appeal primarily to a hardcore audience – players who view many of its frustrations as features rather than flaws. However, it’s a very different experience from what Bungie has accustomed us to. Those who enjoyed Halo or Destiny may struggle to find the same kind of fun here, at least in the game’s current state. There is potential, no doubt. If it continues to be supported and evolves over time, Marathon may yet become a more solid and appealing proposition. But, for now, it’s a difficult recommendation to make.”
