How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

While most of this generation’s avalanche of double-dips have felt cynical and unwarranted, Gravity Rush truly benefits from a change of system and a chance to reach a comparatively huge audience. It is, simply put, a better game than it used to be, and I can’t complain about that.

A Remastered release shouldn't be cutting corners, and it seems silly that the game's four major zones are all still so faded, dull, and repetitious.

A re-master done right, with significant graphical upgrades, running in butter-smooth 60 frames per second. If you missed the original Vita release, be sure to pick this up.

The lack of any real challenge makes this out to be less of a game and more of an interactive story. It almost feels like Gravity Rush would have been more appropriate in any other medium, but there's definitely potential here to expand upon the gameplay concept of freely manipulating gravity. It's unique and a ton of fun.

The perfect chance to play such a successful game as Gravity Rush, at PS4 owners' grasp. The game isn't just good, but also addictive.

Gravity Rush Remastered will have you purring at the potential that its sequel looks set to fulfil, but it's a fine release in its own right.

Gravity Rush: Remastered is the living example of how a remastered game should be done. It was a great choice by Sony to bring it to the PS4 because it is the presentation that should have deserved from the beginning.

Another great remaster from Bluepoint Games. Gravity Rush Remastered has been improved in every aspect: an unmissable action/adventure if you didn't play the Vita version.

Despite its problems, Gravity Rush is an adventure worth taking not just because there's hardly anything like it, but because it leverages its distinct gameplay to great effect, freeing you from the hold of gravity in a world worth exploring.

It’s easy to understand owners of the PS Vita were happy with this game in 2012, but three years later, on the PS4, it doesn’t feel like a full-fledged game. Entertaining and very cute, but not full-fledged. [feb. 2016 / page 062]
