How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 100% | 97 | 1 |

“While Fight Crab is far from the best fighting game I've played, it is among the funniest fighters, which gives the title real value, despite its quirks.”

“Fight Crab is an impressively full-featured and surprisingly good-looking game that transcends its silly meme origins and ends up as something much more. It could end up a staple party game with its joyfully nonsensical premise and well-executed crab simulating gameplay, which goes above and beyond what a crab-battling game really needs to be, and we applaud it. Some novelty titles are a complete flash in the pan, but Fight Crab sticks.”

“Fight Crab is rough and ugly, but it’s charming nonetheless. It embraces the sheer fun of fighting games in a way that I hope we see more of in future.”

“If you don’t expect too much from it, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth of entertainment. But the game is at times sloppy and unprofessional, even for an indie title, which does harm the experience to a noticeable degree.”

“OK, so I definitely consider a title like this a love/hate proposition...”

“If you are looking for a deep fighting game, I guess you might be able to find it here, since it does have a style all its own. Personally, however, I can't wait to play this at parties in the future and have my friends duke it out as gigantic crustaceans. You might not play Fight Crab every day, but if you're looking for a unique and slightly odd multiplayer pick, I think you might have a blast with this one.”

“Fight Crab is something very different and I hope it pays off for Calappa Games.”

“Fight Crab is not a game that you learn, it is a game that you and your friends jump into for a fun frenzy of wall climbing, hyper moves and even the occasional kamehameha.”

“With fights that boil down to a pointless tussle with both crabs ending up face to face with the weapons and claws almost completely unable to fit, or get any purchase, I can’t recommend Fight Club on its combat. It has no story whatsoever, lots of painful menus and the craziest floatiest physics controls. But it’s certainly a spectacle.”

“Fight Crab is one of those games you have to see to believe. But after the charm wears off, you'll be wondering why you're still playing it.”

“Fight Crab gives dangerous weapons to crabs, and it's a wonderful, hilarious mess of a fighting game.”

“Fight Crab is as dumb as it is absurd, and it’ll leave you with the biggest smile on your face as your chainsaw wielding crab goes into battle.”
