How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“This Bed We Made offers a combination of a rich story, immersive gameplay, and stunning visuals. While some may feel that the game falls short in certain areas, particularly in terms of pacing and gameplay mechanics, it’s important to highlight its strengths as well. These include, above all, storytelling, character development, and thematic depth. All of this makes This Bed We Made a worthwhile experience for those who enjoy narrative-driven games. Players who appreciate introspective and emotionally charged stories will likely find this game very engaging. If you’re drawn to unraveling a mystery alongside Sophie and enjoy a bit of exploration along the way, don’t hesitate, be sure to give this game a try. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”

“This Bed We Made has several strengths, like the setting, the script and the attention given to the LGBTQ theme. Despite its relatively short duration of 3 to 6 hours, the game offers replay value through its narrative variations.”

“Lost and Found is a charming, intimate return to Sophie, offering a warm standalone story, likeable characters, and a noticeable visual upgrade. Its simpler mystery and slightly repetitive gameplay keep it from matching the original’s complexity, but it remains an easy recommendation for fans.”

“This Bed We Made offers a great narrative that completely absorbs the player into discovering each of its mysteries. The game addresses a lot of serious themes of the 50s in brilliant ways which makes the story even more believable. What it lacks in visuals, it definitely compensate with great story-telling which is the most important element in my opinion anyway.”

“I really enjoyed this game. The game has multiple endings, but I didn’t find it challenging enough to play again. The story grabs you right away, and you want to know more. Your hunger for the story is strong, so you don’t skip any cutscenes and even try to find extra information in the game (like reading notes, etc.). The combination of exploring, making choices, and experiencing their consequences is really well executed.”

“This Bed We Made tells an amazing story with simple yet fun gameplay mechanics to frame it. The puzzles add a challenge that isn't frustrating and instead is one of the most interesting and fun parts of the game. The characters feel fleshed out and real, as though they are real people with extended backstories. The graphics are not perfect; however, they are serviceable for what is needed, and the sound design is fantastic in every way.”

“A short but focused and utterly compelling experience, This Bed We Made is a mystery that we simply couldn’t pull ourselves away from. As wrong as it feels to be in Sophie’s shoes, snooping into things that didn’t concern us, it didn’t take long for us to be utterly engrossed in the mystery that unfolds. This is a detective game done right, with engaging puzzles and the perfect balance of player autonomy and guidance when you need it. The team at Lowbirth Games has revealed itself to be an incredibly talented bunch of people, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.”
