How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 77 | 113 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 94% | 89 | 850 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 78 | 71 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 97% | 92 | 14 |

“Though I've always enjoyed Epic Mickey, I'm thrilled to have revisited the game, as it has held up remarkably well. This remake makes it better than ever. If you're looking for that "Disney Magic," so to speak, you'd be hard-pressed to find much better than this. Full of surprises, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a delight.”

“Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a welcome return for one of Mickey's most memorable adventures, this is just about everything one could've wanted out of a revisit to a lost classic. It fumbles its execution a bit with the performance, but there are enough novel ideas and enjoyable gameplay concepts here to make the experience more than worth your while. Enjoyable gameplay, a captivating world, lots of replayability, and a raft of tweaks and improvements over the original make this one an easy sell. We'd recommend this to anyone looking for a big-budget 3D platformer that does things a little differently from the genre norms, and of course to anyone who considers themselves an avid Disney fan.”

“Epic Mickey Rebrushed is another spectacular remaster, and we’ve had a few in recent history. It’s an amazing upgrade to the original, not just in the visuals department but also in its great adaptation for the modern consoles. If you want to play a dark and gritty(ish) Mickey adventure, Epic Mickey Rebrushed is for you. ”

“You can tell that there was care and love put into this, and I’m rather thankful that something like this exists at all. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed does enough to justify being a worthy remake of a somewhat beloved game, though it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s a solid platformer in its own right, and the new additions are welcome ones.”

“Thanks to refined camera controls, additional moves, quality-of-life enhancements, expanded 2D platforming sections, and the retention of almost everything that made the Wii version special, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is the best way to experience Mickey's adventure in Wasteland.”

“Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will be a fun time for any 3D platformer and Disney fan, with all sorts of references to the past. It is a fascinating game that brings people deeper into the characters and worlds that Walt Disney created in his early days, and will be worth exploring Wasteland again for those that played the original Wii version thanks to the improvements made mechanically and visually. This is still a rather basic platformer that treads the line of tedium due to outdated fetch quests, and voice acting could have really benefitted the story scenes, but there is a great charm to this game, despite the darker tone, that will appeal to many.”

“Epic Mickey is still an enjoyable platformer with impeccable artistic talent driving it. The repetitive combat and exploration remains, but the Rebrushed updates go some way to remedying those shortcomings.”

“Epic Mickey: Rebrushed feels like a triumphant return that beautifully blends nostalgia with modern some enhancements. The visuals are captivating, the gameplay is enjoyable, and the heartwarming story still shines. However, the absence of voiced characters feels like a significant missed opportunity, one that could have taken the emotional experience to new heights. Despite this, Rebrushed remains a must-play in a sea of great platformers, inviting players to rediscover the magic of creativity and adventure in Wasteland. Whether you’re revisiting or experiencing it for the first time like I did, Mickey’s artistic journey is one worth taking.”

“Disney's Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a fine remaster that scratches that nostalgic itch, even if it doesn't do anything new with the material. Sometimes, it's just fun to revisit something familiar, and that's enough.”

“Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a pleasant surprise. The changes made to the gameplay allowed the game to gain new life. The visuals are stunning, and if it weren't for the technical flaws, we would be dealing with a great title. And yes, it is “only” a very good game.”
