How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Acclaim gate: the raw blend lands at 89.2, but scores above 88 must be earned in front of a mass audience; this verdict rests on 952 player reviews, a largely self-selected fanbase. As more players weigh in, the ceiling rises (full scale unlocks at 100,000 reviews).

Sektori is a relentless twin-stick shooter that perfectly fuses breakneck gameplay with pulsating techno, creating an intoxicating audiovisual experience worth your money. At $14.99 it’s one of the easiest purchases in the Switch 2 library, and one of those rare arcade games that can genuinely absorb hours without feeling like it’s demanding them. If you own a Switch 2 and like this genre at all, there is no reason not to have this game.

I love Sektori. The roguelike-inspired elements and smart risk/reward systems feel fantastic within the fluid arcade shooter framework Sektori delivers. I’d heard people loved this game, but playing it on the Switch 2 feels especially right at home on the platform. If you’re a fan of challenging twin-stick arcade shooters, pick up Sektori. You won’t regret it.

Sektori is a triumph. Blending the core gameplay of Geometry Wars with several engaging new mechanics makes this one of the most satisfying and addictive games I've ever played. It boasts immaculate presentation with gorgeous visuals, a thumping soundtrack, and rock-solid 60fps gameplay. Some of the new mechanics may take some getting used to, and Sektori could do a better job at explaining them. Once you've got your head around all of it, though, it's impossible to put down. As far as twin-stick shooters go, Geometry Wars has been dethroned, there's a new king in town.

Despite its difficulty, Sektori is pretty much a perfect arcade-style twin-stick shooter and has fully earned its score. Even after hours of gameplay, I still don’t feel particularly skilled, but that is by no means the game’s fault, quite the opposite. I’m aware that I’m only at the beginning of my journey and nowhere near satisfied yet, and I intend to continue my “studies” with the game so that I can climb as high as possible on the global rankings. Sektori is a modern work of art that justifies every one of its gameplay design choices with style and craftsmanship. Instead of mocking the player, it rewards improvement fairly as skill grows.

Sektori is pure arcade goodness, fast, vibrant, challenging, and incredibly easy to sink hours into without realising. Yes, it can be a bit unforgiving at times, and I think the early difficulty spike could be slightly softer, but those small critiques don’t take away from how fun it is. This is the kind of game you boot up for a quick run and accidentally play for an entire evening. It’s simple to learn, satisfying to master, and packed with that “one more try” energy that great arcade games thrive on. I really enjoyed my time with it, and if you’re looking for a quick-fire, neon-soaked shooter that respects your time and rewards your skill, Sektori is absolutely worth picking up.

Sektori is a well-crafted arcade twin-stick shooter packed with mechanics that make every new run feel fresh. Ship upgrades and cards complement the gameplay in meaningful ways, and alongside the campaign, the additional modes offer plenty of opportunities for chasing high scores. The only real drawback is that the bosses on the lowest difficulty vary noticeably in how demanding they are, and a few mechanics could benefit from clearer explanations. That would also make the easiest difficulty feel less challenging overall. Even so, Sektori is always worth jumping into for a quick session.

Sektori is a brilliant twin-stick shooter with an incredible soundtrack and one that is a perfect fit for handheld play on Nintendo Switch 2. If you skipped it before or simply want to play it on the go, it is more than worth the asking price. Just be prepared for a great challenge throughout.
