How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Docked is a game of incredible mechanical highs and frustrating structural lows. Saber Interactive has nailed the atmosphere, the graphics, and the tactile joy of operating colossal heavy machinery. If you judge it strictly as a guided, 25-hour puzzle-action game about moving heavy objects, it is a fantastic time. However, as a simulator, it falls short of its true potential. The lack of an endless free-play mode and the rigidly linear, bite-sized missions prevent it from becoming the ultimate logistics sandbox it clearly has the engine to be. At $29.99, it is still a solid purchase for heavy machinery enthusiasts, but you might want to wait for Saber to patch in a sandbox mode before committing to the full shift.”

“While Docked is a great single-player game, the lack of a sandbox mode or online gameplay makes it lose an important aspect of any simulator game in today’s age. It will keep you entertained for your current playthrough, but the game lacks in replayability, especially when you get tired of playing the same jobs again and again. I really wanted to give Docked a higher score, but it loses points based on the fact that all of your invested hours are just locked out at the end. If you love playing simulators, Docked is one of the most unique ones, with a brilliant campaign and amazing, huge machines to control. Just don’t expect much of an endgame once you finish the campaign.”

“A kind of an odd release which is nowhere near as large-scale as RoadCraft and its predecessors, and for that reason it may make weary faster than those games did. However, it does feature several interesting innovations that would be great to see in Saber's next”

“Docked is a fairly decent simulator, but it ultimately lacks anything to make it interesting for those outside its niche.”

“While I do still miss the more “sandbox” style of Saber Interactive Titles, “Docked” is at the very least a great step in the right direction with its more engrossing narrative and good simulation of cables and weight. I just wish the team went a bit beyond and added more variety of jobs and didn’t rely as much on menus.”

“With Docked, the developers have created a surprisingly well-crafted port simulation. The game impresses with its meticulously designed industrial environments, realistic vehicles, and effective blend of driving and resource management. Even though some missions can feel repetitive and the game’s lifespan is a bit short, the experience remains enjoyable from start to finish. I would have liked, however, to be able to continue operating the port once the campaign was over. A sandbox mode would also have turned the experience into a true playground for simulation enthusiasts. The foundation is solid; now it’s just a matter of polishing the title with updates or additional content to prove that even the most technical industrial activities can become surprisingly captivating.”

“Despite the bugs and optimization issues, Docked is a very fun and easy-to-get-addicted-to experience thanks to its accessible gameplay loop and missions with the perfect length for multiple replays, making it the best port work simulator on the market.”

“Docked is a focused and fairly accessible sim. It doesn’t reinvent the genre, but it delivers a steady, engaging experience.”

“Docked is exactly what you’d expect from a port operations simulator, or at least the most exciting version of one.”

“Docked turned out to be the exact opposite of what I expected. What I initially dismissed as “just another simulator” ended up being a surprisingly interesting experience, backed by strong writing, solid voice acting, and a gameplay loop that is dangerously addictive.”

“Many players probably don't expect much from a port simulator, but this game proved to be a pleasant surprise. The controls are intuitive and fun, and you won't get bored even after playing for hours. You will also notice your own improvement over time when handling containers and heavy machinery, which will draw you in for more hours of play. The only downside is that the game doesn't include multiplayer or co-op modes.”
