How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 59 | 24 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 64% | 63 | 535 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 65% | 63 | 137 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“All in all, Biped 2 is a successful co-op puzzle adventure that really shines thanks to its cooperative focus. The charming presentation, accessible controls, and the satisfying feeling of mastering tricky challenges together make it an ideal title for game nights with friends. However, those hoping for a deep story or revolutionary gameplay ideas will likely be disappointed. Innovation compared to its predecessor is also rather limited, and minor technical glitches still need to be tolerated at this time. Biped 2 is a heartwarming, humorous co-op experience that truly shines when played together. It invites you to fail, laugh, and try again as a team. For puzzle fans and co-op gamers, it’s a clear recommendation.”

“The sequel to the cute platformer on two limbs will torment you again, but it also brings satisfaction when you manage to overcome the pitfalls. You will have more fun with a patient teammate.”

“Do you enjoy playing co-op games with your partner, child, friend or assorted loved one? Then please, in the name of Zeus himself, don't play Biped 2. The intense challenge of this sequel can ruin your relationships with those closest to you as you shout and yell at each other in a desperate, but futile, attempt to make it through the most masochistic level design I've ever encountered.”

“The story in Biped 2 isn’t exactly the main attraction. It serves more as a gentle backdrop than a driving narrative, a reason for your mechanical duo to explore new areas and tackle a variety of clever mini-puzzles. It gives the journey just enough context to make each challenge feel meaningful, without ever getting in the way of the gameplay. It’s simple, sweet, and exactly what it needs to be, just enough story to give purpose to all the fun chaos that follows.”

“If you've played the original Biped, you've played Biped 2, and I truly mean that. This is sadly one of the lowest effort sequels I've ever encountered, down to even the game's Tutorial being a direct copy/paste from the OG. There are numerous examples of blatant and unabashed rip-offs consistently throughout the experience, to the point that it feels like self-plagiarism.”

“Biped 2 can be fun to play with friends, but you really have to be committed to get through the more difficult levels. Featuring solo and four-player modes, there are more ways to enjoy the action than ever before, with each feeling like a unique experience.”

“A charming sequel with inventive controls that sometimes trip over its own feet”

“Biped 2 is a solid and charming sequel that maintains the charisma of the first game and enhances its cooperative gameplay with new challenges and interactions. The experience becomes even more engaging when played in a group, as the need for coordination and communication between participants creates hilarious and challenging moments. However, the lack of progress sharing between game modes ultimately undermines the overall fluidity of the experience.”

“In Biped 2, you play as an adorable robot that's essentially a head stuck to two wonky little legs. The premise is that each of those limbs is c...”

“Biped 2 continues the trend of offering top-notch co-op puzzle platforming fun that its delightfully unexpected predecessor provided in spades. With its funky fresh feeling of constant variety and consistently lovely sights and sounds, it's certainly worth checking out. 🤖”
