How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 87 | 18 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 96% | 92 | 849 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 91% | 85 | 85 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |
Acclaim gate: the raw blend lands at 90.0, but scores above 88 must be earned in front of a mass audience; this verdict rests on 1,705 player reviews, a largely self-selected fanbase. As more players weigh in, the ceiling rises (full scale unlocks at 100,000 reviews).

“...[I]f you need slick Sega Saturn-style racing that's just about drifting in style and full of winding turns and loops, you can't go wrong with Parking Garage Rally Circuit. It's not a complicated sim affair, but it isn't meant to be since it's straightforward and focused on what it's delivering, wrapped up in a quaint purposefully old-school 3D wrapping.”

“While it has a definite 90’s racing vibe, and some niche drifting appeal, it’s also a bit too narrowly-focused and limited to garner greater attention”

“This game feels like one of those small hidden gems that's going to stand the test of time, one that doesn't require tweaking with cars or switching between manual or automatic shifting. It isn't clinging to the past but rather celebrating those that came before. Let the meter run a little bit longer, because being stuck in this parking garage has been nothing but pure joy.”

“Parking Garage Rally Circuit is proof that classic game styles never have to die.”

“The amazingly comprehensive retro flair, including a fantastic soundtrack, make this retro racing love letter something I like to let myself be carried away by. In terms of content and driving model, however, this runs out of gas somewhat quickly ... Parking Garage Rally Circuit is successful in what it does, but it's also a not much more than a short snack.”

“I think that the best thing I can say about Parking Garage Rally Circuit is that I wish this was actually available on the Saturn, as it’s an absolutely phenomenal retro achievement. As cliché as it might sound, it is a perfect recreation of a Saturn game, from its visuals to its simple physics and scope. It plays well, even if it’s a bit too hard at times. It might lack some polish in some aspects, but it more than makes up for it in terms of charm.”

“Despite its brevity, Parking Garage Rally Circuit packs a huge punch. It’s not just its perfectly emulated retro aesthetic or its near-flawless execution of its central concept, either. It’s just so damned happy to be here. You can feel the passion behind it, and that energy is felt in all its facets. It knows what it is, and it’s laser-focused on presenting it in the most finely-tuned way possible. I cannot fathom any game topping it in the niche of racing games contained entirely within parking garages. I’m not really sure what the best way to wrap up this review is, so let’s try this: Parking Garage Rally Circuit is miles more fun than parallel parking.”

“Parking Garage Rally Circuit does feel like a game plucked out of the SEGA Saturn or PlayStation 1 era. It’s a straightforward game where its ideas are all executed well, but I’d like to see the game grow and expand beyond what it is. While it’s not a long game, there’s lots of reasons for you to return to it, like to get all gold trophies, beat rivals, or participate in the multiplayer. Parking Garage Rally Circuit is a bite-sized game that I’ll always keep installed and revisit often, as it slides right into your heart.”

“Parking Garage Rally Circuit doesn't have much content and is best suited for enthusiasts not only of the racing genre, but also of the 3D style of the 1990s that the game tries to revive. In this aspect, it is undoubtedly successful. Mastering drifts to get the best time is as fun as it is frustrating, as the slightest mistake can be quite punishing. If you like this type of experience, it is an ideal option, especially for playing online with friends.”
