How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a worthy sequel, quirky, packed with content, and often a joy to explore. The colourful worlds and clever metroidvania level design are its biggest strengths, rewarding curiosity with satisfying upgrades and platforming challenges. Unfortunately, a frustrating stamina system and underwhelming combat hold it back from reaching its full potential.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is the only game where you’ll get to enjoy both getting fired from your job and the subsequent corporate motivational video. It’s colorful, absurd, cheeky, and definitely not certified by any safety agency. The game doesn’t take itself seriously, and that’s exactly why it’s more entertaining than a team-building exercise with aliens. If you’ve been missing a combination of sci-fi, corporate cynicism, and colorful chaos in the gaming scene, here’s everything you need in one package.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a colorful, witty, and creative space madness that manages to surpass the original in every way. If you're looking for an adventure that blends exploration, action, and satirical sci-fi humor, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Despite presenting itself as an open playground for exploring vibrant alien environments, this game erects numerous unnecessary barriers, hindering the very freedom it seems to promise. Ultimately, the restrictive gameplay clashes significantly with the otherwise lighthearted and adventurous tone.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is an accessible, fun game, packed with content to explore, technically well-executed and that, most likely, had a low production cost. In contrast to many generic AAA titles, lacking personality and with billion-dollar budgets, which end up delivering forgettable experiences, Revenge of the Savage Planet shows that it is possible to create something remarkable without exaggeration.

If you didn’t vibe with the humor or exploratory pace of the first game, this sequel won’t change your mind. But if you’re into weird sci-fi, smart level design, and biting satire, this is absolutely worth your time.

Whether you're playing solo or with a partner, this is an adventure worth taking. It’s hilarious, heartfelt, and consistently surprising, a cathartic takedown of corporate culture, served with a smile, a slap, and a whole lot of goo. A vibrant, satirical, and joyfully absurd platforming adventure with heart, humour, and heaps of alien charm. Whether you're here for laughs, traversal, or co-op chaos, Revenge of the Savage Planet delivers a refreshing dose of weird in all the best ways.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a breath of fresh air for adventure game fans. Its wacky humor, unique universe and improved gameplay allow Raccoon Logic Studios to offer a quality sequel. However, the objectives can sometimes be too similar, while the combat still lacks a certain airiness. However, it should be noted that the switch to third-person shooter is a successful gamble. Technical problems aside, this is an interstellar adventure that stands out for its colorful personality. The team seems to have found the right recipe, now all that's left is to sublimate it!
