How this trust score was computed

Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.

    High On Life 2Feb 15, 2026 · Shawn Zipay

High on Life 2 is a must-have for fans of the original. It expands upon the original in several key areas while adding some decent innovations and twists to feel fresh. However, performance woes hamper the fun at times.

As Long As You're HereNov 13, 2025 · Shawn Zipay

A triumph of interactive storytelling. It stands as a sensitive, intelligent, and deeply affecting piece of art that understands the unique power of video games to build empathy. While it is a somber and often difficult journey, it is an exceptionally beautiful and important one.

    PainkillerOct 28, 2025 · Shawn Zipay

Painkiller is a mixed bag. It's a classic case of a reboot that successfully captures the feel of a modern shooter. The moment-to-moment gunplay is enjoyable and player movement is fluid and responsive. However, these strengths are almost completely overshadowed by the game's numerous design compromises such as mandatory co-op and an all too short campaign.

    FBC: FirebreakJun 30, 2025 · Shawn Zipay

FBC: Firebreak enters a crowded co-op shooter market as a budget-friendly option. While nothing is inherently "bad" about it, the game struggles to differentiate itself. Its connections to Control and the broader Remedy Connected Universe feel underdeveloped. Props to Remedy for avoiding the Games as a Service model and for their continued willingness to experiment. However, FBC: Firebreak feels like a step too far from the studio's core strengths.

    MindsEyeJun 15, 2025 · Shawn Zipay

Outside of a very few semi-positive points I think MindsEye just fucking sucks. It's buggy, it's boring, the story is bad, the gameplay is bad, and it runs like garbage. Don't play it. Don't support a studio that is now having their team work "around the clock" to fix a myriad of issues that should have never made it to release. Don't buy it now nor even when it inevitably gets a deep discount.

Revenge of the Savage PlanetMay 27, 2025 · Shawn Zipay

Despite presenting itself as an open playground for exploring vibrant alien environments, this game erects numerous unnecessary barriers, hindering the very freedom it seems to promise. Ultimately, the restrictive gameplay clashes significantly with the otherwise lighthearted and adventurous tone.

Shadows of the Damned: Hella RemasteredOct 29, 2024 · Shawn Zipay

This underwhelming remaster of the cult classic action title keeps the crude humor and pockets of fun but retains the original's blemishes while adding in all new warts.

Crime Boss: Rockay CityJul 2, 2024 · Shawn Zipay

Crime Boss makes a very compelling argument in its favor. Is the game perfect now? No, not by any stretch of the imagination. The single player may as well not even exist and is good for maybe a brief look out of morbid curiosity. The online multiplayer, on the other hand, is very fun.

The Outlast TrialsMay 13, 2024 · Shawn Zipay

The Outlast Trials is a great multiplayer horror game that retains the thrills and chills of previous Outlast games while adding some light-heartedness when playing with friends.

    StarfieldOct 2, 2023 · Shawn Zipay

Starfield emerges as a familiar addition to Bethesda's repertoire, offering an expansive but ultimately safe journey through the cosmos. While the game does attempt to delve into profound themes and presents an open-ended narrative structure, it still adheres to Bethesda's tried-and-true formula, failing to break new ground in the action-RPG genre.

    Diablo® IVJun 19, 2023 · Shawn Zipay

The new release of Diablo 4 has exceeded expectations by providing an engaging and dark experience that fans of the franchise have been eagerly waiting for. With its improved gameplay mechanics, often stunning visuals, a wide range of multiplayer options, and extensive endgame content, Diablo 4 has cemented its position as one of the best action RPGs currently available.

Amnesia: The BunkerJun 5, 2023 · Shawn Zipay

Frictional should be commended for at least trying something a bit different when compared to their previous offerings. As the studio continued to evolve and iterate on their linear experiences, there is a hope that they will continue to learn and iterate on this idea of a semi-open world horror experience. Perhaps in a few years' time we will see Frictional create a title that again hits the highs of Soma but with the added freedom to explore and experiment in the game world. It would be nice to look back in a few years at The Bunker as being a steppingstone to something greater, but right now it's hard to see it as anything other than a short, "merely ok" game from a studio that has crafted much more compelling releases in the past.

    After UsMay 24, 2023 · Shawn Zipay

After Us manages to deliver an experience that is largely enjoyable despite its flaws. Loose gameplay mechanics, framerate hiccups, and superfluous combat encounters are mostly offset by solid environmental storytelling, a poignant message, fantastic soundtrack work, and almost rock-solid performance and visuals.

    RedfallMay 11, 2023 · Shawn Zipay

Redfall is the worst AAA game release in years. Bugs, glitches, poor performance, terrible mission design, broken AI, and everything in between are here in spades. There is no saving this one and there is no excuse for how this game was released in this state.

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition offers plenty of new, next-gen visual eye candy with a substantial hit to performance. The small upgrade cost is an easy choice for console players coming from last-gen hardware, but PC owners may find it a tougher pill to swallow. Note: The extended issues with the PC version were not known to us during the review process of the PS5 version.
