How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| All-time Steam reviews | 80% | 74 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 81% | 75 | 315 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“Hozy is a short, sweet, and undeniably beautiful palate cleanser. When the lighting hits your freshly painted walls and you find the absolute perfect spot for a cozy reading chair, the game achieves a zen-like state of relaxation that few other titles can match. If you go in expecting a sprawling, infinite interior design simulator, you will be disappointed by the 3-hour runtime and lack of a sandbox mode. But if you just want to spend a rainy afternoon unwinding, sipping a coffee, and making digital spaces beautiful again, this is $15 incredibly well spent.”

“Hozy is a simple and cozy game that doesn’t try to be anything more than a brief moment of respite. Hozy remains a title worth checking out, especially for those tired of the daily rush and games based on nonstop action. It’s a peaceful experience that lets you pause for a moment and simply relax. And everyone needs that from time to time, even if it’s not the perfect form of relaxation.”

“Hozy’s slow-paced and relaxing gameplay, complemented with buttery smooth animations and an amazing soundtrack, makes it a solid choice for gamers looking for something peaceful. It allows you to take your time with levels as you explore your architectural skills by renovating and decorating a wide variety of rooms and spaces. At this point, there are some gameplay bugs in the game. The camera controls are awkward, and I would have loved it if it had more content. Still, Hozy is a great cozy game that will surely pull you in with its unique charm and gorgeous visuals. Highly recommended for players who like playing renovation simulators or puzzle games.”

“A relaxing and deeply interactive interior design experience that balances creative freedom with thoughtful restraint.”

“Ultimately, what stands out about Hozy is a sense of untapped potential. The game has a solid foundation, a strong visual identity, and a well-crafted atmosphere, but it ends too soon. It feels more like an extended demo than a full-fledged experience, which is all the more frustrating given that you can tell there was potential for so much more. With more content, more precise controls, and, above all, the addition of a sandbox mode, the game could have established itself as a benchmark in the genre.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Hozy. It is graphically stunning and manages to make mundane tasks like cleaning the area, washing the floor and painting the walls fun. If you are a fan of interior designing but don’t want to get your hands dirty and obliterate your wallet, this is an easy recommendation.”

“Hozy, while a short experience that can be completed in one sitting, is an enjoyable title. With beautiful, realistic graphics, lighting that feels luxurious to bask in and a smooth jazzy soundtrack that helps tie it all together. The attention to detail in the weight of an object, the way the wind blows through an open window, and the ambience that layers when you turn on a fan or a radio, all help build an aesthetically impressive game. Though it lacks in replayability and doesn’t push much farther than a room decorator in its mechanics, Hozy will likely be a hit for fans of titles like Unpacking or any decorative cozy game.”

“For those looking for a video game that feels like a warm bath after a long day, Hozy is one to sink into. With versatility in design comes so much replayability. No pressure, no time limits, just a great game to relax with.”

“Hozy was one of my most anticipated games of the year, and it didn’t disappoint at all. The developers have promised extra content down the line, but even now, the game is just cozy enough to replay each level, without hurrying, leisurely, cozily. If you like interior design games and you are in the mood for something short, but very cute, Hozy is definitely worth a look.”

“There are parts of Hozy that make it seem like there could be more to its systems. On the other hand, what Hozy offers is simple enough to fill the niche of cozy relaxation. It ends up falling in a place where “more” is the first thing that comes to mind.”

“Hozy is an chill renovation simulator that perfectly captures the feeling of cleaning and decorating. It stands out for its sound design and a light but heartfelt plot, though it suffers from inconsistent performance.”
