How this trust score was computed

Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.

    Truxton ExtremeAug 21, 2026 · Jon Scarr

Truxton Extreme modernizes the classic vertical-scrolling shooter with EX BOOST, permanent Story mode upgrades, and demanding stages that make learning from your mistakes part of the fun. The repeated character paths and limited easier options hold it back somewhat, but shoot ’em up fans who enjoy learning enemy placement and improving through repetition should find a lot to like.

    Dark ScrollsAug 2, 2026 · Adrià MA

Dark Scrolls delivers an entertaining arcade experience that excels in local and online co-op play. Its vibrant pixel aesthetic, catchy soundtrack, and character roster provide plenty of initial charm and fluid gameplay. While repetitive layouts and a grindy progression loop keep it from matching the heights of its peers, it remains a fun, budget-friendly option for fans of quick action sessions.

Halo: Campaign EvolvedJul 30, 2026 · Jon Scarr

Halo: Campaign Evolved brings Master Chief’s first adventure to a new generation without losing the combat that made it memorable. Operation: METEORITE, Campaign Remix, modern movement, and an expanded arsenal add worthwhile reasons to return, though repetitive indoor areas and occasional frame-rate drops keep the remake from feeling completely polished.

    The OccultistJul 12, 2026 · Jon Scarr

The Occultist combines first-person paranormal investigation with environmental puzzles that use Alan Rebels’ pendulum to uncover Godstone’s past. Exploring the island and connecting its clues held my attention far more than avoiding its predictable creatures. Several pendulum powers are rarely used after they’re introduced. Finding your way back through Godstone can become frustrating, and texture issues sometimes make important objects harder to inspect. This is for horror fans who prefer paranormal mysteries and environmental puzzles over combat or extended chase sequences.

    EA SPORTS™ College Football 27Jul 11, 2026 · Jon Scarr

EA SPORTS College Football 27 returns with its main career, team-building, and side modes alongside the college game-day atmosphere. The football is still the part I enjoyed most, especially when adjusting the defence before the snap and trying to finish a close drive. Dynasty can slow down between games, and Road to Glory still doesn’t make the college career personal enough. Paid shortcuts reaching beyond Ultimate Team make those weaker stretches harder to ignore, so college football fans who care most about the action on the field should enjoy it more than those looking for deeper career modes between games.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag ResyncedJul 9, 2026 · Jon Scarr

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings Edward Kenway, the Jackdaw, and the Caribbean back with better combat, cleaner stealth, and cleaner mission flow. The remake keeps the pirate adventure at the centre, with ship battles, fort raids, and exploration still carrying a lot of the fun. It isn’t completely free of old Black Flag baggage, as parkour can still misread your intent and Jackdaw upgrades require plenty of resource chasing. On XBOX Series X, some frame-rate dips, texture pop-in, and visual quirks showed up, but this is still an easy return for Assassin’s Creed fans who wanted Edward’s adventure to play better now.

Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains takes Monopoly’s board, properties, and dice and rebuilds them around Team vs. Team play, shared Credits, Influence Points, battles, GO Events, and Star Wars locations. I came away seeing it more as a Star Wars team board game than a classic Monopoly update, which makes group play more active and the match easier to finish. The main problem is that GO Events can swing too much of the board. Repeated commentary and event scenes also wear thin after a few matches. Star Wars fans looking for a couch or online board-game night should get more from it than someone who mainly wants the original Monopoly rules.

    Gothic 1 RemakeJun 26, 2026 · Jon Scarr

Gothic 1 Remake brings back a harsh single-player RPG set inside The Colony, where training, camp politics, and dangerous exploration all shape your progress. The game makes you slow down, listen, and learn the world instead of chasing markers. The frame rate cap, pop-in, audio bugs, and clumsy menus kept getting in the way. There’s a good RPG here for fans who miss this kind of challenge, but I’d wait for more fixes before jumping in.

DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last RoundJun 24, 2026 · Jon Scarr

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round brings Dead or Alive 6 back with cleaner visuals, Photo Mode, and some former DLC fighters, and the combat is what kept pulling me back. Matches stay quick and steady, with Holds, Throws, Break Gauge decisions, and danger zones keeping rounds active. The bigger friction comes from Story Mode’s stop-start pacing, missing rollback netcode, missing crossplay, and no cheaper path for returning owners. If you missed Dead or Alive 6 the first time, Last Round makes more sense than it does for anyone who already bought deep into the 2019 release.

    BrokenLore: FOLLOWJun 23, 2026 · Jon Scarr

BrokenLore: FOLLOW is a short psychological first-person horror game about Anne, her mother, and the childhood memories she can’t shake. I connected with it most when the house, sound design, and lighting made familiar spaces feel unsafe without needing constant jump scares. The vague objectives and doll side-scrolling sections get in the way, especially when you’re stuck hunting for the next object instead of staying with Anne’s story. It fits horror fans who want a personal story built around mood and memory more than combat, deep puzzles, or a long campaign.

Call of the Elder GodsJun 15, 2026 · Jon Scarr

Call of the Elder Gods has a strong mystery, useful sequel connections, and memorable locations, but unclear clue paths, underused character switching, and limited exploration payoffs keep it from matching the promise of its mystery and character setup.

Darksiders Warmastered EditionJun 13, 2026 · Jon Scarr

Darksiders Warmastered Edition brings War’s first campaign back with direct combat, clever dungeon tools, and a comic-book apocalypse that still has personality. The PS5 version improves the return with 4K rendering, 60 FPS, DualSense support, Activities support, and Photo Mode, though the camera, platforming, and older visual details show the game’s age. It’s a clear fit for newcomers and returning fans who want War’s campaign with a cleaner console upgrade.

NBA THE RUNJun 12, 2026 · Jon Scarr

NBA The Run delivers fast arcade basketball with strong 3v3 action, rotating Knockout rules, and a roster that makes team choice count. Cred unlocks and no microtransactions are welcome, but the online-first design, lack of dedicated offline mode, and repeated tournament cycle leave the game depending on future support. It is best for anyone who wants quick online basketball tournaments more than a deep single-player sports game.

    Echo Generation 2Jun 5, 2026 · Jon Scarr

Echo Generation 2 is a compact turn-based RPG with strange character chapters, clear card decisions, and Cococucumber’s familiar voxel style. Its separate hero stories and deck-focused combat make it a more interesting sequel, but short chapters, light exploration, and a tougher late-game gauntlet make it better suited to RPG fans who don’t mind a demanding final stretch.

    The 7th Guest RemakeJun 4, 2026 · Jon Scarr

The 7th Guest Remake brings Stauf Mansion back as a strong horror puzzle adventure built around room puzzles, hidden clues, ghostly performances, and the spirit lantern. Some controls still show the remake’s VR origin, especially during object interactions and perspective-heavy puzzles, but the mansion and mystery hold the experience together with only minor loading hiccups along the way.
