How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“FNAF: Security Breach is really like pizza. The base is a bad dough, on which, however, lies an excellent garnish. The ideas, atmosphere, and details of this title are great, but unfortunately, they do not excel as they should, due to the poor technical condition and basically no good story.”

“Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach definitely breathes new life into the FNAF series. The game features new characters that will appeal to both longtime fans and new players alike. Plus, you don’t necessarily need to be familiar with the series to enjoy the game. In some situations, the tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife, and there are moments when you’ll feel your heart leap out of your throat. Unfortunately, the game also has a few flaws in the form of bugs and areas where the animatronics simply get stuck.”

“In every moment of playing Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach it’s clear the willingness of the developers to give the saga’s concept the right creative and imaginative depth; unfortunately, an horrendous technical sector collapses much of the gaming experience, while a lack of clarity on narrative intentions and some flaws at the base of the gameplay contribute to make Security Breach weaker than expected in terms of enjoyability.”

“Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach is the newest addition to the fans' favourite indie survival horror series and although it expands its ideas into 3D space marvellously, due to its performance issues it delivers an undercooked pizza experience.”

“Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach offers a fresh take for fans of the series, featuring free-roam gameplay that allows you to explore the vast Mega Pizzaplex at your own pace. The detailed character models and vibrant environments along with the voice acting adds depth to each animatronic’s personality. However, it is not without flaws; there are some glitches that can disrupt gameplay, particularly during tense moments, and the stealth mechanics often feel like they are poorly designed. Despite these issues, it remains a solid addition to the franchise, appealing to both fans and newcomers willing to overlook some technical difficulties.”

“Despite Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach's appealing visual design and interesting mysterious the many shortcomings cannot be forgiven.”

“Unlike its traditional series, this game tried its best at changing the entire genre, by introducing a whole new series of the ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’, it also comes with the biggest map size of all, still with plenty of animatronics which run towards you with unique personalities. One particular aspect to look out for, is the fact that the new glamorous looking Freddy is now your companion. Depending on the player’s decisions, there are alternate endings to seek. It’s a little unfortunate that you don’t get an in-game navigation system even with the larger scale of the map, lacking the convenience since its decision to take a jab at a new genre, which, in fact could also be the creative selling point to focus on a larger base of audience at the same time.”

“Overall, Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is a solid entry in the long-running series that has garnered a cult following throughout the years. It is the best-looking game in the series and really excels at creating a tension-filled atmosphere that will keep you on your toes. Despite its many bugs and glitches, the core gameplay remains enjoyable as long as you can learn to put up with some of its questionable design decisions that can pile up to be a source of frustration while playing the game.”

“Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is an excellent addition to the FNAF timeline, and also introduces a new approach to the title without feeling repetitive. New characters and terrors await each new player, and you don't need background knowledge to enjoy the game straight off the bat. Not only will you love this game, but you'll also for sure acquire some new nightmare fuel along the way.”

“While offering a lot more varied content from previous installments, Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is unfortunately riddled with a myriad of technical and design issues. As a result, it’s a title I can only recommend to hardcore series fans and survival horror fanatics after most of its issues have been fixed. ”

“Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is not a game that revolutionizes survival horror. By taking up the codes of the genre without particularly original ideas, the title is intended above all for fans of the franchise who wish to learn more and more about this horrific universe filled with animatronics and secrets. Unfortunately, the many bugs, the technical issues, the lack of finish and the rather too visible tricks used by the developers to scare people make the experience difficult for others. It is nonetheless a classic horror game with some interesting sequences that will be able to please survival-horror lovers who lack titles to be consumed.”
