How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a game that I can recommend to anyone with a clear conscience. It is a very atmospheric, engaging game that, above all, provides a lot of fun. Sure, you could point to some repetitiveness, a few persistent bugs, or mediocre optimization, but all these flaws are lost in the thicket of at least ten hours of truly solid and satisfying fun.”

“Brigada Games presents a zombie apocalypse where, amid bureaucracy, routine, and a lack of morality, we must save the world, one survivor at a time. Quarantine Zone is, in my opinion, a bold take on the zombie genre. It looks good, is technically solid, and delivers graphically. It has everything needed to immerse us in the situation, focusing on something new that goes beyond simple resource management.”

“Quarantine Zone: The Last Check offers a slightly different take on the zombie apocalypse. It’s the perfect game for those who can’t stand wading through a crumbling city with a limited ammo supply and the feeling that something is lurking just around the corner. There’s no shortage of tense moments, but once you really get into the game, you’ll find yourself relaxing quite a bit. It definitely has plenty to keep you entertained, although you’ll eventually fall into a routine. The graphics and gameplay are pretty decent, and the developers paid close attention to detail even within the game’s compact scope. Any flaws are mostly cosmetic or depend on individual player preferences. Some people will definitely enjoy the scanning mechanic.”

“Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a title with an excellent premise that ultimately runs out of steam in its execution. It has brilliant ideas, such as the triage system and the visual tension of screening for infections, but it fails to sustain long-term interest due to overly simple base management and repetitive mechanics that eventually wear thin. If you enjoy medical sims, gore, and zombie themes, and can pick it up on sale, it can offer a couple of afternoons of intriguing entertainment. However, if you are looking for a deep management challenge that will keep you glued to your seat for weeks, you might want to keep looking at another checkpoint.”

“Quarantine Zone : The Last Check was a game that was fun to play on PC, but the console version just misses the mark thanks to bad controls. If I were to mark this down purely as a PC game, I would have given it a higher score because it is a lot of fun to play in that format, but the console version just feels like a bad port, unfortunately. Playing it on PC instead would be my suggestion.”

It invites players to focus on the small details, providing enough strategic options and management systems to feel rewarding for the player. The game stumbles, or perhaps shambles, in its implementation of certain systems, not always feeling like a cohesive or perfectly thought-out experience. With more depth added to the character interactions and less focus on perfecting security checks, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check could have risen to new heights.”

“Quarantine Zone: The Last Check struggles with technical issues and inconsistent challenges. Glitches, visual drops, and clunky mechanics pull you out of the experience, and the game doesn’t always push you to adapt or think in surprising ways. Though it shines in giving players a real sense of authority, a reactive world, and satisfying systems that reward careful observation and decision-making, its current state is difficult to recommend. However, fans of puzzle-management simulations who enjoy moral ambiguity and quiet tension can still have a compelling and worthwhile experience despite its rough edges.”
