How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Turok 2: Seeds of Evil undergoes a remaster treatment on the Nintendo Switch and the overall result is positive, where the hardware limitations that constrained the original have been overcome and the gameplay experience has been improved thanks to motion controls. At the same time, it's clear that the game's concept is not up to date and there might not be enough elements here that will convince those who did not play the original game.”

“Both Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil may not be as advanced as they were upon release, but they still hold up remarkably well. They're both still enjoyable to play, and the excellent remaster treatment from Night Dive Studios helps bring them up to modern standards, while still maintaining their retro identity.”

“Despite any downfalls that Turok 2 may have, it's still the best entry in the series. The addictive and fast-paced combat mixed with an impressive armory makes each level feel exciting to take on and the different environments keep it from ever becoming repetitive. While the original Turok created the foundation of what the series represents, the sequel fully realized this vision and turned it into one of the best first-person shooters of the Nintendo 64 era. Anyone looking for a retro game that'll keep them hooked from beginning to end, and doesn't take too long to finish, should look no further than Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. Just remember that there's a good chance that the lack of direction on where to go could make the experience less enjoyable, depending on the player's skill level.”

“Were it not for the successful conversion of the multiplayer mode for this port, I would have rated this game lower. Even without an active player base, though, the prospect of getting friends involved for a night of classic fragging is really tantalizing. Hopefully more people get this in the future, because letting these crazy weapons go to waste is a damn shame.”

“There is no denying that Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is a more refined game than its predecessor. That much is certain. With Nightdives efforts, Seeds of Evil plays better than it did twenty years ago. There are some things players will have to overlook, particularly the dated visuals and some samey looking level designs, but Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is still a blast to play.”

“Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is a necessary and sufficient tuning of the Iguana classic. We return to face hordes of enemies in an old school shooter, as its first part the work done is merely technical and graphic, with no addition beyond the gyroscope control. Also this time we have lost something along the way, the multiplayer mode, which without being the highlight of the game, it was an appealing extra which now hangs the doubt of whether it will be launched or not in future updates. Otherwise the game is as good as it was, a classic very easy to recommend.”
