How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Infinite Minigolf is another solid arrival on the Switch eShop, and most importantly adds to the steadily growing variety of genres and themes on the store. It does a very nice job of delivering over-the-top, entertaining minigolf, with plenty of official and user-created content to keep players busy. The downsides are slightly baffling systems and a crowded user interface, and the fact that some less experienced gamers may find the required precision for shots a little too demanding. Overall, however, this one is definitely under par - in a good way.”

“Infinite Minigolf is a whimsical take on minigolf that has all the charm that only Zen Studios can bring.”

“Infinite Minigolf provides the tools needed to cultivate an endless arcade game, it just needs the algorithms required to ensure that its one you’ll actually want to play forever. The core golf here is fun, and the pre-designed courses show that there’s potential for some great puzzle-like levels. It’s now down to the imagination of users to wield the title’s intuitive Course Editor to create some high-quality stages, and the title itself to ensure that they get promoted ahead of the inevitable procession of low-effort Bogeys. ”

“I ignored the power ups when I could and I have a store full of unused tickets to purchase clothing. Minigolf when properly designed is exciting enough that the missions and power-ups become a distraction, hopefully as more courses are developed by the community, the focus stays on creativity. Nothing is more satisfying in minigolf than coming up with an insane geometric plan that is pulled off with a mix of both skill and luck.”

“There is a huge amount of content on offer here, helped by a creator community that seems to be doing a mostly great job of keeping new courses coming. But even without the created courses, Infinite MiniGolf still has a wide array of content to keep you entertained for ages, and with great local or online multiplayer, playing with friends is an absolute joy.”

“Infinite Mini Golf is a ton of fun, easy to control and is the best mini golf experience you can have without going to a course.”

“Criticising a party game like Infinite Minigolf feels a bit like kicking a puppy with cute, big eyes that’s super enthusiastic and just wants to be your friend, but I must. Infinite Minigolf lacks the gameplay variety and polish to take it to the top of the party tower. It’s mostly solid and dependable fun, but it only really comes to life in local multiplayer, so just don’t buy this game if you haven’t got any friends who like to visit.”

“Infinite Minigolf has very realistic ball physics and a control system that is extremely precise - so precise that it can even put off less experienced players, as it takes some time to get used to. Its lack of motion controls is also difficult to understand but Infinite Minigolf has plenty going for it, including its potentially endless lifespan.”

“Now some four months after it launched, Infinite Minigolf packs more than enough content to see you putt to your heart’s content for weeks. It all feels understated though, lacking the outlandish spectacle that we have seen from the pinball tables that Zen Studios has created. Not without charm, it, as always, is best enjoyed with others. Just keep an eye out for Rudy’s hooves.”

“Infinite Minigolf is a really excellent game in which small nuances peppered with ability to create and play already user-created levels, at the time of the survey, the number of created levels exceeded 5500+ and this number is constantly growing, the presence of such a function as crossplay with all major platforms, makes it clear that the present in the name of the game Infinite used not just.”
