How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 100% | 97 | 1 |

“The Fall Part 2: Unbound is different, but certainly not better. Which isn't to say it's a bad game in and of itself, just one that missed the mark as a sequel. I hope the next installment can reflect a tightened focus, something closer to the excellent original. Ditching combat would be highly advantageous.”

“The Fall Part 2: Unbound continues the story from The Fall with an interesting angle on familiar sci-fi concepts, but the game that underpins this darkly cerebral world is somewhat lacking. Both its action and adventure elements suffer from stilted controls, and the imaginatively conceived point-and-click sections don't always leave a satisfying breadcrumb trail for the player to follow. The result is a game that's as frustratingly flawed as it is thought-provoking.”

“At its best, The Fall Part 2 feels more humanist and tactile in its approach to discussing self-preservation and how such desires lead to the defining of one's self.”

“For all its clever notions and science-fiction world-building, The Fall 2 struggles to summon interesting gameplay scenarios beyond its admittedly strong final act.”

“Perhaps The Fall didn't need to be a trilogy. Part 2 falls short of the first’s aspirations, and while it’s commendable that it aims for a grander vision, the execution couldn’t be worse. All of Unbound's shortcomings are magnified by the sloppiness of the porting onto Nintendo Switch, resulting in a choppy and ugly-looking game that already didn't look that great to begin with.”

“The new characters are a welcome addition to the world. The story presents fresh ideas and feels like a worthy follow up to The Fall. The occasional awkward mechanic aside, The Fall Part 2 presents an exciting and satisfying adventure. Now get to work on part three!.”

“It has some problems, it's not quite as great as the original but still just as interesting.”

“What The Fall Part 2: Unbound lacks in difficulty, it makes up for in intrigue. The transformation of narrative from horror to sci-fi makes you look at the series in a new light, and even though the questions about humanity and robotics have been brought up before, the game's take on them remains interesting enough that you'll want to see what's in store for the third game. The gameplay length is decent, and there are satisfactory combat and puzzle elements. If you've already checked out the first game, you should take a look at Unbound as well.”

“The Fall Part 2: Unbound tells an interesting and often complex tale of an artificial intelligence but it's often too obtuse with it's puzzle solutions.”

“Great part two in The Fall series, and leaves the door open just enough ready for part three. If Over the Moon continue with the improvements they've made to the next installment, then the trilogy should go down as a true classic of its time.”

“The Fall Part 2: Unbound is a return to the formula of point and click games, this time with a sci-fi plot involving forms of artificial intelligence in a story that could somehow take place in the real world. Thanks to its quality writing, the plot really stands out as the main element of the game and this will certainly appeal to fans of point and click games, as well as to those who enjoy science fiction stories.”
