How this trust score was computed

Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.

Banishers: Ghosts of New EdenFeb 25, 2024 · Chris Chedrawi

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will hook you with its emotionally charged story where tough choices and their lasting consequences take centre stage. While the combat might not be its strongest aspect, the game still delivers a memorable experience with top-notch voice acting, stunning visuals, and deep character development.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered offers a faithful experience for fans familiar with the iconic games that started it all. While the improved visuals and a nifty toggle to switch between classic and modern graphics elevate the experience, the outdated controls leave something to be desired about the core gameplay mechanics. But if you're just looking for the classic Lara Croft adventure experience, you won't be disappointed.

Despite some Early Access woes, Palworld's blend of open world, survival, and creature collecting manages to click. While its long-term durability remains a question, the satisfying core loop of capture, build, and explore keeps you coming back for more.

    The Crew MotorfestOct 6, 2023 · Milo Milton-Jefferies

Despite its initial handholding and grindy formula encouraging you to use microtransactions, The Crew: Motorfest is still tons of fun to play when you ignore that and get to the actual body of racing, maximising the potential of a smaller open world for a fun, addictive arcade style racer that highlights the history of motorsport with a variety of engaging playlists that are never dull.

Starfield is the sci-fi fantasy game that you've been waiting for. To truly enjoy and get the full experience of this space RPG, you must fully invest your time and multiple playthroughs to get the best from it. With a compelling story and a vast universe to explore, Starfield will have you coming back for more. Some elements like the inventory and weight allowance take away from the enjoyment early on, but if you battle through, Starfield will take you on a wild adventure. One of the best games XBOX has released in many years!

    Immortals of Aveum™Sep 2, 2023 · Milo Milton-Jefferies

Immortals of Aveum is a fun, bombastic Crysis-like game that has more at home with Call of Duty than anything else; all spells blazing. Nothing is new and its path is well trodden; but what you get is a fun exercise in the formula with stellar cinematics that give the story just the right amount of narrative heft that it needs to thrive. Expect something akin to a summer blockbuster movie – easily digestible; fun in the moment – but you’ll forget this after you’ve completed your playthrough. Hurt by its release coming right out before Starfield that won’t help matters as there are more attractive titles elsewhere; but for those who want to try something new – it’s worth waiting for in a sale.

    En Garde!Aug 16, 2023 · Chris Chedrawi

En Garde! is the swashbuckling adventure you didn't realize you needed this summer. The fencing mechanic adds unique gameplay to a theatrical story jam-packed with fun characters, rich and colourful environments, and real-time dodging and parrying. An Arena Mode will keep you coming back for more, but the difficulty curve is definitely something to look out for.
