How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 3 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 1 time.

“Octopath Traveler 0 proves that it's possible to transform an old mobile game into a truly ambitious and memorable console experience. Despite its imperfections, it offers one of the best stories in the franchise and delivers a mature, poetic, and masterfully crafted adventure.”

“Despite its technical concessions, it manages to transport the original experience in a portable format while preserving what is the heart of Persona 3: emotion, strategy and narrative depth.”

“Overall, South of Midnight doesn't offer gameplay mechanics that met my expectations, but it shines with its world, its story, and its beauty. It's not a bad game, far from it, but you have to understand that it's very repetitive and linear.”

“AI LIMIT is a very nice surprise in the Souls-Like category. This is a game I would recommend to serious action-adventure fans. I don't think I'd put it in the "Best Souls-Like of All Time" category, but it might be worth a look for some people. So it's not a revolution, but it's a good game and well worth the price. I personally enjoyed my experience!”

“Overall, it's still a pleasant experience, especially considering its price, so it won't be a heavy hitter for your wallet. For those unfamiliar with it, Into the Emberlands was developed by the same studio as XEL, a game that strongly resembles a 2D Zelda game.”

“If you liked the Yakuza series I think you will love Yakuza Like a Dragon: Pirate in Hawaii, especially if you liked the 'Like a Dragon' part with Ichiban and his gang. The atmosphere is very similar to these, contains seriousness but with a good dose of humor and lightness.”

“Monster Hunter Wilds is a revolution for the franchise . With its more vibrant world, graphical improvements, refined gameplay, and immersive story , Capcom has delivered one of the best hunting games ever made. Sure, it's missing some features from Rise and World, but the addition of new mechanics and attention to detail more than make up for it.”

“Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is a must for fans of challenges and demanding action games . Its gameplay is still as enjoyable, its epic soundtrack and its technical improvements make the experience smoother than ever. However, it will not suit everyone: its brutal difficulty and aging graphics may put off some players. On the other hand, even if it is based on the Sigma 2 version , for those looking for a true test of mastery and skill, there is no better choice!”

“Avowed kicks off 2025 with a bang with an epic RPG experience. It’s already establishing itself as one of the major titles of the year. After so many hours spent exploring the Living Lands, it’s hard to shake its spellbinding appeal. The world, lore, and characters are among the most carefully crafted I’ve ever encountered, a testament to the attention to detail and love that has gone into this universe. Obsidian Entertainment has created a masterpiece, and every RPG fan should play it.”

“It is a good family game, very fun and which puts forward important values of our society. It is perfect for a child who begins his adventure with video games. There is a lot of dialogue between the characters which will give the impression that it is a children's story.”
