How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 83% | 77 | 1200 |

“AI Limit is full of smart ideas: stamina-free combat, build variety, and rewarding exploration. When it all works, the game delivers a fun, fast-paced Soulslike experience that feels surprisingly fresh despite its budget. But it’s also buggy, repetitive, and lacking polish. Storytelling is weak, and performance problems are frequent enough to frustrate even dedicated fans. If you love Soulslikes and don’t mind a little jank, AI Limit offers a unique take on the formula, just don’t expect perfection.”

“AI LIMIT is an unusual mashup of familiar solutions that is unlikely to be a big hit, but well worth a look.”

“AI Limit may seem like more of the same at first glance, but it proves its worth by competently delivering the basics. With solid mechanics, good pacing, and striking environments, it's a safe and well-executed choice for anyone looking for a dependable Soulslike experience.”

“AI Limit is a well-crafted new soulslike title that, while it suffers from a lack of variety in certain areas and occasional technical glitches, makes up for it with a unique synchronization system and the powerful atmosphere of its post-apocalyptic world. The game forces players to think tactically and adapt to constantly changing combat conditions, making it a challenge for those seeking a bit of adrenaline. If the developers iron out a few minor kinks, it will be a solid choice for fans of this unforgiving genre.”

“AI LIMIT doesn’t quite reach the same heights as its inspirations and is held back by some notable technical issues. However, some small but key innovations in the combat system and an enthralling setting more than make up for the game’s shortcomings to make the game an enjoyable and worthwhile experience overall.”

“AI Limit is a great souls-like with is limited only by a hit-or-miss art design and weak first half bosses”

“Despite some issues, AI Limit manages to introduce fun new mechanics to a genre that is bordering on fatigue, offering frantic combat, responsive gameplay, an interesting universe, and a good narrative, making it a solid choice for players looking for a 'soulslike' that’s a bit out of the ordinary.”

“AI Limit review is a Soulslike anime meets dark futuristic fantasy banger with a massive and beautiful world to explore and almost infinite replayability for anyone who likes a challenge.”

“AI LIMIT delivers a fresh, accessible take on the souls-like genre with fluid combat and creative mechanics, though its lack of challenge and repetitive environments hold it back. A solid choice for newcomers, but veterans may find it too forgiving.”

“There are just too many amazing Soulslike efforts to justify spending a lot of time with AI Limit, but that doesn't make it a bad game. It has some unique ideas that switch up combat just enough to be interesting, and its anime art style initially impresses. But for seasoned veterans of the genre, it doesn't provide much of a challenge and mostly feels like a retread. I'm sure there are people out there who have been scarred by Dark Souls and are looking for an entry-level Soulslike to ease them back in, and that's the kind of individual I'd recommend AI Limit to. They'll have fun, but it's a stepping stone to something far more riveting elsewhere.”
