How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! offers a unique take on party board games and anime-based games in general. It's an easy recommendation for fans of the series, but those simply seeking a truly fresh spin on a somewhat perfunctory formula should enjoy it regardless of their mastered breathing style.”

“If you're a die-hard Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba fan, you and your friends might find enough enjoyment in Demon Slayer, Sweep the Board to get you through a game or two. However, the underwhelming and forgettable minigames, glacial pace of the gameplay, and connection issues that made online play unusable for us greatly overshadowed this party game's positive points.”

“If you like the format of the Mario Party formula, but would like a more stylish and bizarre experience, this delivers”

“Online multiplayer is supported and you can play the minigames standalone if you like. Additionally, a raffle mechanic allows you to unlock profile customisation items. But ultimately your enjoyment will come down to how much you want a Mario Party game on your PS5, because right now, this is your only option.”

“Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board!" is an interesting proposal for manga and anime fans who enjoy party games. The title features boards inspired by important locations from Demon Slayer and the saga's characteristic humor. Sadly, the minigames catalog is poor, and its battles against demons, while intense and enjoyable, cannot save the lack of variety that condemns it to a repetitive experience.”

“Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep The Board! appeals to a very specific type of player: someone who's already a big fan of the series and also loves digital board games. The concept is fine, and the day/night cycle and demon fights make this an intriguing party game. That said, between the mediocre collection of minigames, small board selection, unfair CPU characters, and poor online performance, there's not much to keep players interested for very long. It's not a terrible party game, but you'll only be tempted to grab it if you really, really need to play a party game.”

“Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board adds some twists to the party board game formula, though its main mechanics could've been made more engaging by making them more competitive. Its mini-games could also be better as they're fairly easy. Still, the game should offer a good time for Demon Slayer fans, especially for in-person get-togethers.”

“Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board! is a straightforward but pleasant Mario Party-esque title that Demon Slayer fans will obviously get the most out of. The minigames and boards are full of neat ideas, and the unlockables give further incentive to replay boards alone or with friends. If you’re looking for a breezy board game with Demon Slayer theming, Sweep the Board! will get the job done.”

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Sweep the Board is a party game on our PlayStation console, but it's not entirely convincing. Sweep the Board provides countless hours of fun, but the variety is not quite there. After a long dry spell, SEGA brings us an average party game on our consoles.”

“I would only recommend it to people who are fans of party video games, but at once they should keep in mind that it is not even going to reach the levels of fun that a Mario one can provide us. Honestly, I would think twice before buying it, especially because a much better product will arrive in October for Switch.”

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Sweep the Board successfully bridges the gap between the captivating world of the anime and the interactive realm of gaming. While it may draw comparisons to other board game adaptations like Mario Party, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Sweep the Board distinguishes itself with its meticulous attention to detail, engrossing narrative, and strategic depth, and set’s it apart.”

“Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board is a different enough party game that stands on its own. Sadly, it doesn't do enough to recommend playing it over its contemporaries. The world of Demon Slayer does a lot to carry the game forward and fill it with charm, but the minigames don't have as much going for them and lack variety. It is fun enough to recommend playing once with friends but not enough to play more than that.”
