How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 80% | 74 | 385 |

“Even if you're not a fan of the show, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is still a good game as far as multiplayer arcade fighters go. If you ARE a fan of the show, you'll really want to add this to your library.”

“Considering Power Rangers games have more often than not been middling-to-poor, Rita's Rewind is a pleasant surprise. It's been given a lump sum of love and attention from a development team at one with the source material. And, if its obvious polish wasn't enough, it's a game that really understands the arcade format and goes all out with dazzling Super Scaler action stages that work well to stave off the genre's naturally repetitive nature. There are a few aspects to the combat that could have been tweaked, but with its humour, lengthy 15-stage campaign, multiplayer hijinks, and heavy-duty '90s charm, Rita's Rewind is probably the best Power Rangers game we've ever played. It's pretty Morphinomenal.”

“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a beloved tribute to a cherished franchise in video game form. It easily stands alongside some of the more standout titles that have emerged in the genre as of late, and everyone involved shows their reverence for MMPR in every frame. Anyone worried about the quality of this game can rest easy, as this is something I can happily point to as a great example of a good beat-em-up. I had a morphenomenal time with Rita’s Rewind, and I’m sure anyone fires this up will feel the same way. This game is far from a headache, so go-go give this one a shot.”

“While I'm no Power Rangers fan, aficionados of the series deserve better than this stock churned-out co-op beat-em-up that is less "Mighty" and more "Adequate". If you need a 90s beat-em-up with today's modern conveniences, you're better off with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge.”

“The game is beautiful and extremely fun, the different mechanics that alternate between the phases make the game even more attractive and less repetitive, a problem that happens in a good part of the games of the genre, the exciting music, the enemies, characters and scenarios extremely well constructed, and the fun fights in the Megazord cockpits, all of this is an invitation for hours and hours of fun.”

“For fans of the original show and retro gaming, Rita’s Rewind is a morphinominal trip down memory lane for fans of the original show and retro gaming, Shredder’s Revenge, is a worthy addition to the beat-up revival. Whether you’re reliving your childhood or discovering the Rangers for the first time, this game is a morphing good time.”

“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is a welcome blast from the past in concept, but struggles to find its own identity underneath the weight of the concepts within.”

“The Rangers themselves are a bit hard to distinguish in terms of how they play, which makes subsequent playthroughs a bit less enticing, but there are stage objectives to complete for those so inclined. While the different stage types keep the action from getting stale, the Megazord segments are a bit of a letdown in terms of both gameplay and presentation. All in all, seeing another decades-old property brought back for another ride that plays well and hits those nostalgic notes is a welcome fourth quarter addition to the Switch's stable of brawlers.”

“If you have nostalgia for the show, this is a no-brainer. Even for someone like me who is aware of the series, but didn’t exactly have fond memories of it, I get what they are putting down. Combat can be stiff at times, but the break ups between levels really carries the experience.”

“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is probably the most ambitious title this franchise has ever received. It mixes classic side-scrolling beat-em-up action, with varied other retro-inspired styles of gameplay. It is hit-and-miss; playing by yourself feels brutal and at times unfair, and the non-beat-em-up sections, whilst initially exciting, can be tiresome. But with hand-drawn SNES-style graphics, a pumping soundtrack and nostalgia coming out of its ears, it still manages to be fun most of the time.”

“Unimaginative beat 'em up with a high price tag that completly ignores much better games in the same genre.”
