How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (Metacritic) | – | 88 | 6 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 89% | 83 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 86 | 38 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 84% | 78 | 95 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“Every RPG fan who hasn't had the opportunity to play Divinity: Original Sin has to make up for it now - Enhanced Edition is a must buy. The game offers all the good things that years ago appealed to fans of the genre and adds tons of improvements to a great product that originally debuted 16 months ago.”

“The game, if you play it alone, is very interesting and with old school, deep gameplay mechanics. However, if you're looking for a multiplayer rpg, Diablo is still a better option.”

“Not only does it have an impressive combat system and interesting quests, it features a reactive world that you can truly leave your mark on. Add in a winning sense of humour, well thought-out gameplay systems, and a charming aesthetic, and you're left with an RPG that would be a sin to miss.”

“An in-depth and thoughtful RPG that offers console gamers an experience normally reserved for PC gamers. It’s pace and mechanics may take some getting used to and there are a few mild technical issues, but for those willing to put the time and effort in there are countless hours of questing and combat here that should enthral any RPG fan.”

“Enhanced Edition should become the model case for a competition. Except for a few things it levels up almost every game element; it offers the players countless hours of high-quality voice-acting; it’s nicer and controls are flawless on consoles. In addition, now features a local multiplayer. If they get rid of a few past issues, the game would deserve a full [100].”
