How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 59 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 14 times.

Outlet vs. players
Each dot is a game both this outlet and players scored. The dashed line is perfect agreement: dots above it mean the outlet was more generous than players, below it more harsh.

- 92The Blood of DawnwalkerAug 31, 2026
“The Blood of Dawnwalker understands something that most open-world RPGs seem to forget. You cannot experience everything. Time is always moving forward, and how you spend it is important. Having to make those sacrifices initially frustrated me because I wanted to see everything the game had to offer, but eventually it became the reason I enjoyed the journey so much. It also makes The Blood of Dawnwalker highly replayable, because there will always be things you left behind to discover on another playthrough. And with that, I am off to play it all again.”

“Star Wars Zero Company is an enjoyable, almost cookie-cutter strategy RPG. It takes few risks, but what’s here is competent and worth playing, especially for Star Wars fans. I wish what initially impressed me narratively and in terms of gameplay remained fresh throughout, but this is why I appreciate indies so much. If Star Wars isn’t your thing or you’re not that into strategy RPGs like this, then your mileage may certainly vary, but I am glad I got to know Hawks and his crew.”

“A rocket that takes off vibrantly, and then coasts a little too early.”

“Ledgerbound is a delight to play if you’re the target audience. The characters are colorfully memorable, with personal stories that develop and grow believably throughout the game’s narrative. I love how well-rounded the SRPG mechanics are, as well as how the time management and relationship-building aspects are implemented throughout. It might not be for everyone, but Ledgerbound can be genuinely entertaining if, like its cast, the game’s allowed to grow on you.”

“Brigandine Abyss attempts to make the complex strategy/tactical RPG hybrid formula more accessible, but in doing so betrays the core ideas that made the series a cult hit.”

“While Bubbly Basin’s narrative content isn’t super substantial (significantly shorter than the main game areas), it more than makes up for that by offering a completely new way to experience the world and by providing a place for undersea Pokémon to flourish. If the other two DLC packs can meaningfully expand the world and gameplay loop as Bubbly Basin does, then Pokémon Pokopia fans will be eating well off this fresh catch for quite a while!”

“Lunarium is a gem of an action RPG with Soulslike elements, and its key narrative focus on the bond between its main characters makes it stand out all the more.”

“I don’t think Gothic 1 Remake completely replaces the original. In many respects, I still prefer the latter. Yet, I do think there is a growing contingent of gamers who are tired of being patronized by placating RPG design, and that’s reflected in the success of Gothic 1 Remake and other games that don’t hold your hand. For those who might get filtered by the jank of the original, Gothic 1 Remake offers a compelling way to return to a time when RPGs respected the player’s intelligence and abilities, or perhaps to experience it for the first time. And by proving that a nearly 30-year-old design needed reverence rather than reinvention, Gothic 1 Remake quietly makes the case that the best a “remake” can do is trust that the original was right all along.”

“Beast of Reincarnation sounds great on paper, but is ultimately a hollow set of empty promises that fails to launch.”

“A remake with the confidence to keep the friction, Gothic 1 Remake doesn't drag a cult classic into the present so much as prove it never belonged to the past. Play it, get wrecked, get better, and thank it later.”

“The truth is I still had a relatively fun time playing Beast of Reincarnation. After all, even if executed poorly, I love so many of the ideas. It’s by no means a bad game. But ultimately it’s a stale set of broken promises and wasted potential. Like the ledge, I might have had some fun getting to the end point, but there’s no real reward.”

“Celestial Haven boasts a striking, hyper-stylized fusion of cyberpunk and cosmic horror, but the atmosphere is strangled by a lack of overall polish and cohesion.”
