How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“"Well-made collection featuring tons of extras, though the games are not equally good."”

“Capcom's second collection of Mega Man games mostly showcases a series in its death throes.”

“Despite featuring fewer games than the first collection, Legacy Collection 2 makes up for it with longer and more diverse titles, offering good value for the price charged. The high difficulty, a trademark of the series, remains intact, requiring patience and skill even from veterans.”

“All told, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 feels like a letdown compared to the stellar presentation of its predecessor. Missing features and lower quality games easily make this the more skippable of the two, although that doesn't necessarily mean that this is a bad collection. We'd recommend this to any fans of the Mega Man series, 9 and 10 just about justify the collection on their own, but those who are looking to get their feet wet may want to pass on this and just get the first collection. Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is good, but it's not great, so think twice before taking the plunge.”

“Strictly as a collection of hard-to-find games, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is largely okay, but from a gameplay point of view these games simply do not stack up to modern conventions in the slightest. Even the "modern" 9 and 10 go back to when the series was at its worst. The lack of dashing, wall slides, and anything to reduce the annoyance of edges, and "trial and error" style gameplay, all serve to remind of the progress the genre has made. As a historical piece, this compilation is interesting, but for any sort of recommendation, this does not get it - even from a fan of the series.”

“Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 has more variety than its predecessor due to the titles spanning both different systems and different decades. Just like the Disney Afternoon Collection, there's a plethora of bonus content included here, spanning art galleries and music libraries. This is another essential compilation for fans of the Blue Bomber.”

“And, again, it's a shame that there aren't any bonus games included that could round out the selection. As it stands, this is not a strong collection of Mega Man games compared to the first. If you want all the Mega Man games on your Switch, you'll obviously need this volume, but if you don't feel that need, you might skip this one.”

“Some new players might be off put by the jump in quality between the older and newer games in the pack, or even the difficulty some of these provide, but for the price, it's a nice little package to have.”

“The saving grace of Legacy Collection 2 comes in the forms of Mega Man 9 and 10.”

“If you're a fan of Mega Man or want to catch up on the series, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1+2 is your chance to do so on a portable system, making this perhaps one of its best incarnations.”

“Testo: Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 completes the main series adding the last four chapters til the tenth. Although four games feels like not enough for a collection of games already available on other platforms, there are some nice add-ons and the fan-service is quite good. The budget price also helps to keep this pack pretty compelling.”
