How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Fun gameplay with a nice sense of complexity, a mountain of series cameos perfect for any seasoned mecha fan, and hours upon hours of content to play through, Super Robot Wars 30 is some good stuff and basically 100% fanservice for mecha fans.

The two-year development period gives players a variety of options not found in the Super Robot War series. And a great battle in the game will be a big present for mecha fans.

If you like mecha anime or even mecha-themed SRPGs, Super Robot Wars 30 provides a strong introduction to one of the longest-running SRPG franchises. It's a great encapsulation of what makes the franchise shine, and it's filled to the brim with fanservice in a way that will warm even the coldest mecha fan's heart. On its own merits, it is a lengthy and enjoyable (if easy) SRPG, but it really shines if you know the source material. It's not for everyone, but if SRW30 is for you, it'll give you everything you could possibly want.

The Super Robot Wars main franchise finally makes it to western shores via a PC release after 30 years being in existence. it features many famous robot series cameos like from Mobile Suit Gundam and Code Geass, and original characters all rolled into an original story, it also has enough strategic elements that should satisfy fans of mechs and strategy RPGs alike. With music from the Japanese super band JAM Project and animated cinematics, it definitely has that Super Robot Wars feel that has made it famous throughout the years. It is a fun game and don't worry if you don't know every single character that makes a crossover, you can and should enjoy the game without much added previous knowledge.

Super Robot Wars 30 is not the best generation in its series, but it is the most interesting one for me in recent years. The logical narration which have a good combination with the robot battle. It is a perfect one for most series fans, however it does not have a future framework planning, this series can not change the truth that every new production could be the last one of the series if this situation continues.

This is the 30th anniversary edition of the Super Robot Wars. Many new systems have been implemented while all the nook and crannies have been improved as well. Take it like festivities if you will, the level grinds has become less stressful but some of the UI feels they’re out of place. It’s one of the best of the series so far and definitely headed the right direction since the release of Super Robot Wars Alpha.

Overall, Super Robot Wars 30 is worth the price of admission and JRPG fans will love the content it has to offer. The story, animation, gameplay, and setting prove that this game is worth celebrating 30 years of the franchise. For those who wish to play this game, they can start first playing the DEMO in either the PS4 or Nintendo Switch to get used to the game’s system and more. Super Robot Wars 30 has shown many, including myself, what it means to be a major gaming franchise for BANDAI NAMCO.

It only took 30 years, but a brand-new mainline SRW with a nice handful of recognizable anime IPs got an official worldwide simultaneous release and, it's pretty damn good.

Overall, Super Robot Wars 30 is a good addition to the series for fans of the previous titles. While it may not be the type of game I would play that doesn't stop me from appreciating the hard work that has been put into it. From the graphics to the audio and the story, it plays like an anime story that you play through. It is available now for the normal price of 59.99 USD for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows and it is currently on sale on Steam for 44.99 USD.

Super Robot Wars 30 is a great crossover of some of the most iconic super robot franchises in japanese entertainment. Still, there's great care in telling a cohesive story and delivering good gameplay, even if it fails to challenge players.
