How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 70 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 32 times.

Outlet vs. players
Each dot is a game both this outlet and players scored. The dashed line is perfect agreement: dots above it mean the outlet was more generous than players, below it more harsh.

- 70Starsand IslandAug 24, 2026
“Starsand Island presents an idyllic island retreat. Its profession system provides a steady path of progression, while the highly flexible building system leaves plenty of room for experimentation in the mid to late game. However, most of its mechanics remain fairly basic, crafting becomes increasingly cumbersome later on, and NPCs lack sufficiently lively reactions. The game is constantly giving players different things to do, but few of those activities truly stand out enough to set it apart from similar titles.”

“STEINS;GATE's place in the medium hardly needs explaining. It has long since established itself as one of the most successful visual novels ever made. With STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT completely remaking the original using modern technology, there was little reason to expect much in the way of new content. All it really needed to do was preserve as much of the original experience as possible. Fortunately, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT does a pretty good job of that, at least more so than STEINS;GATE ELITE.”

“For fans of farming games, Doloc Town is undoubtedly worth trying. It offers plenty of fresh mechanics, systems, and production chains that constantly give you something to work toward, whether it is building a bigger and better farm or unlocking new technologies that make life easier. However, its rather traditional gameplay loop can feel somewhat tiring by today's standards, while some of its finer details and player guidance are not quite as polished as they could be, leaving a few small areas where it falls short of other games in the genre.”

“A solid combat system and some worthwhile ideas give Beast of Reincarnation a handful of bright spots, but they are not enough to conceal the disappointment surrounding the game as a whole. Its mediocre and at times tedious levels, combined with highly repetitive and poorly designed boss battles, make the overall experience feel thoroughly dull, while its story is even more baffling.”

“Splatoon Raiders proves just how absurdly effective the shooting of this Nintendo Switch-exclusive series can be when an expanded take on Salmon Run is combined with enemy grinding and loot hunting. Its controls and combat feedback, paired with well-developed loot, progression, and build systems, make it incredibly difficult to stop playing once you start. However, as the gameplay reaches its later stages, both the amount of content and the depth available for experimentation begin to fall off.”

“Denshattack! remains a tremendously exciting and memorable adventure. Its level design, gameplay ideas, music, and presentation all feel far beyond what one might expect from an indie game. Traces of Jet Set Radio's parkour spirit, the trick-scoring systems of skateboarding games, and the mechanics of numerous classic video games can all be found within it. Most importantly, it turns the seemingly absurd concept of the subway itself doing parkour into an excellent game that is far more than just a joke.”

“Star Fox fulfills its most basic purpose by bringing this Nintendo 64 classic back to players in a more modern form. There is no denying that many of its design choices were groundbreaking in their time, but this remake is nonetheless somewhat disappointing. It simply pairs visuals roughly on par with the previous console generation with gameplay and level design carried over from 30 years ago almost entirely unchanged.”

“Rhythm Heaven Groove lives up to the expectations longtime fans have had for the series. With higher-quality songs, familiar yet flexible stage formats, and highly replayable bonus modes, it brought back memories of grinding for medals on the Nintendo DS and Wii. For rhythm game fans, it is undoubtedly the most fitting first-party send-off for the Nintendo Switch generation.”

“Ascend to ZERO cleverly weaves the concept of time into its core design, combining the fun of action shooting with the satisfying progression of roguelites and loot-driven games. While the endgame still has some issues with its numerical balancing, for an indie title, it delivers on what matters most: creativity and novelty.”

“Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced still feels as rich, smooth, and memorable as it did at its best. Nearly every part of the game gains some worthwhile new elements, adding a meaningful sense of scale and depth to the experience. Its main drawback is also a familiar one: a variety of bugs can still appear midway through the game, which may simply be an unavoidable part of the Ubisoft experience.”

“Granblue Fantasy: Relink's major expansion, Endless Ragnarok, greatly expands the game with an impressive amount of new content. The time and effort required to fully build a character have now increased several times over. New characters, the summon system, new bosses, and the solo roguelike mode all offer substantial, high-quality additions. While the Chaos difficulty features too many reused enemies and the story presentation leaves something to be desired, Endless Ragnarok still delivers 20 to 50 or more hours of additional gameplay.”

“The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a solid Zelda like adventure, provided you are willing to overlook its story and a few issues with narrative logic. It captures the polished feel and straightforward fun often associated with Nintendo games, while its moderately challenging puzzles provide a welcome change of pace throughout the journey. At the same time, there is no single aspect where it truly stands above the competition or leaves a lasting impression.”
