How this trust score was computed

This reviewer publishes verdicts, not numbers, so trust comes from their recommend/pan calls: call accuracy (50%): when they say buy, do players end up satisfied, and when they say skip, do players agree; alignment (25%): do their recommendations sort games the way players do; and player-side (25%): on games where press and players sharply disagreed, whose side were they on. The blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small histories can't peg the scale, and recent verdicts weigh more (2-year half-life).

    Ghostrunner 2Oct 23, 2023 · Fred Morris

Video games are finally back. Finally, we have another good 3D platformer that isn’t just a Nintendo game. I mean, those are great, but I want more. And so, our favorite AA-grade hack-and-slash ninja platformer is back with a sequel, with more hacking, more slashing, more ninja and a bike.

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTESep 26, 2020 · Fred Morris

BPM: Bullets Per Minute is a fun take on an old genre. It’s definitely challenging and takes some time to get used to, but it’s fun. The levels are procedurally-generated, which means that the rooms can get old fast. Despite that, it’s still fun to experience all the different weapons and characters. There is not a lot of content, but it feels fresh and I can’t wait to see where they go from here.

    Hotshot RacingSep 26, 2020 · Piotr Girf

While a fine arcade racer, Hotshot Racing's priorities were not quite where they needed to be. With bad AI, and a big need for new content, I wish the resources put into multiplayer were put in places that really needed them.

    WitcheyeSep 15, 2020 · Fred Morris

Witcheye is charming, fun and a great time waster. The game is easy to pick up, but hard to master. There's plenty of variety and replayability to keep the player hooked. Though it is a mobile port and suffers from some typical mobile port issues, such as large UI.

WRC 9 FIA World Rally ChampionshipSep 13, 2020 · Fred Morris

WRC 9 is a fun game, for both casual gamers and serious rally fans. It’s a good rally game for anybody interested in WRC and racing, however owners of WRC 8 will not be missing out on a lot. The changes aren’t as big as last year - the visuals, audio and handling have been improved and there’s more content, but it still feels like an update or DLC, rather than an entirely new game.

    BattletoadsSep 9, 2020 · Jess Dawkins

Battletoads smashed through with it's reboot after 26 years, with engaging visuals, a banging soundtrack, and gameplay that rarely gets stale I found the game a breath of fresh air bringing me back to simpler times where games were the only thing on my mind. It's a epic addition to the franchise, and Dlala doesn't disappoint.

    SpinchSep 6, 2020 · Fred Morris

Spinch is a fun 2D platformer with psychedelic visuals. It’s colourful, there’s enough variety between levels and enemies. You can beat your high scores, The controls are tight, platforming feels good. The game looks and sounds unique. There aren’t any graphical options, which is a shame.

Kandagawa Jet Girls is an immensely fun racing game with some unfortunate problems that hold it back from being great. The performance and AI can be fixed with patches, but the game still gets very repetitive and same'y towards the end. I would love to see a sequel to this game some day that fixes the problem this game had whilst expanding the scope.

    WattamAug 23, 2020 · Fred Morris

Wattam is a fun, quirky game. It’s art style is cute, the soundtrack is good, and while gameplay may get repetitive, the charm makes up for it. It’s also fun to mess around with the physics and see what the game can handle. It’s like a big toybox.

    Dead Rising 4Dec 6, 2016 · Richard Baskins

Dead Rising 4 doesn't build much farther than it's predecessors, but it lays down a foundation for more games to come. The setting is great for the genre it's in and it helps build up the world around it. It's very fun by yourself and with friends, doesn't matter if you are trying to rack up the highest score, or if you're running zombies over in a tricycle. You'll enjoy the game both ways. There were some points where it didn't shine, being the technical aspects, and there wasn't much of an improvement compared to the other games in the franchise.
